Re: Facelift?

The tooldrawer is fine.

The interface is fine.

It's not broken. Don't fix it.

Re: When will we get a major upgrade of NWP?

Nooooo...keep the tool drawers! Nisus is the only software publisher that actually figured out how to use toll drawers well, and they make working with the program so much better. They allow me to focus on what I need when I need them - and I can easily make them going away if I want them. NWP (and ...

Re: I've got a two week window to download a newq version!

Have you tried Crossover from CodeWeavers? It allows users to run a fair number of Windows apps on an Intel Mac without having to install Windows. With a program as complex as Canvas it might not work, but I believe you can download a trial copy of Crossover to give it a whirl. It might be solving m...

Re: What about: "Export/Save as ePub"

Here's another vote for NWP (or even NWE) on IPad. The Pages version is just OK - I'd love to have a Nisus app for it since I use my iPad for out of town conferences.

Oh just quit your whining. The release is far more than a few bug fixes and a couple of minor features. Perhaps the timing of your purchase wasn't ideal, but if you take a long-term view of how Nisus has charged for the program, it's still a bargain. For a program that I use daily, the overall charg...

For those who think the upgrade price is too high, I think it's important to remember that this is the first time Nisus has actually charged for an upgrade since the product was released - and if my memory serves me correctly, NWE was released more than four years ago. This sure doesn't sound like a...

The manual can be directly accessed by going to Help>Nisus Writer Pro help.

I like having the manual appear as opposed to an online help system, as its often hard to find what you're looking for with the latter.

I've never had that problem with 2.7 (it's been very stable), but here are some things to try:

1. Delete NWE and all support files and re-install.
2. Delete all printing software and re-install
3. Repair permissions after all re-installing.

It doesn't always work, but it might.

Yes and no. While it's possible to import some content from Omni Graffle and LinkBack is good for that, having some built-in graphics capabilities allows for an ease of use and unified look (especially when adding borders, lines and captions) that would be a bit time-consuming by only relying on Omn...

I agree with Ryan. While I don't need a full set of drawing tools, some basics would be really helpful, plus the ability to make borders, text boxes and be able to caption images.

You know, Martin, if you guys decided to show _all_ of Mr. Blue Smurfy Naked Nisusman in the icon, the resulting publicity would probably result in an impressive sales, um, er - spike.

I have to agree with the past posts. NWE has become increasingly stable, and I find it's been exceptionally solid with the new release. The Nisoids take bug reports very seriously if you take the time to report them, and I haven't found myself trashing prefs or the like in some time. As an aside, I'...

Make sure that you have the "Table" palette added to your Table tool drawer. The first row of icons in that palette allows you add and delete both table rows and columns. You can also add cells by splitting existing cells, which you can do from the Table menu. I do this frequently, and fin...

I've used Mellel a bit, and I just can get beyond its awkward interface and the over-reliance on styles as the main source of handling text. The problems with the interface go beyond just the metal look or "writing in iTunes" as has been mentioned. I don't find the bouncing palettes to be ...

I've been fairly well astounded by the number of free upgrades Nisus has offered with NWE - far more than I expected. The program has become one of my primary tools for getting work done, and I won't complain at all about paying for an upgrade. Compared to other software publishers, I think it's ove...
