adding a cell to multiple tables
Hello, I have a long, table-laden nisus doc--there are five or so different tables on each page of the document. I need to add the same sized cell to multiple simple tables--to insure uniformity across the document. One type of table is being used something like a header on each page of about half t...

Martin (and ProfT) The macro that Martin provided seems to have worked. It took several minutes--it seemed to go thru the file in steps--and tho I haven't looked thru the end result to see if anything unplanned happened along the way, it generally looks like I expected it to. And the opening speed i...

Martin, Thanks a lot for that macro, tho I'll have to approach that carefully--I'm even less 'fluent' in macros than I am in tables. Still, this would be a great and very practical place to start. I think I'll pass a link to this thread on to the author of the textbook, who apparently has a backgrou...

is it possible to easily convert tables to text?
Hello, I've read with interest about the time lag problems with leopard--I'm using an older G4 at 1ghz, NWP (1.0.3), and 10.5.2 now. I'm dealing with an 88-page document that uses a large number of tables with very little other text (1-4 tables per page). Without NWP already running, it takes almost...

aersloat--I share your grief, but I haven't found any suitable substitute for the type of outlining in appleworks. I sure wish something comparable (modernized) was available that would read/convert those AW files! I've got scads of documents--things like lecture notes--that I still go back to AW for.

straight quotes and curly quotes in the same document
I had this problem once and asked here--as I recall the answer that solved my "problem" came from two people here. I was importing (English) text from documents that had come from machines used here in Japan, and I was getting curly quotes in one part of a file and straight in another part...

getting, & not wanting, curly/straight quotes--in same d
I've assembled several documents recently. They contain mostly English with a few lines of Japanese here and there. Within the same document (the English sections) in one place if I type a word like don't I get curly quotes, but if I move to another place and type the same I get a straight apostroph...
