Re: Crashing with find and replace

Martin, Hamid and Kino, thank you very much for your support and assistance. Thanks to Kino's tip-off, I have managed to get it working by changing (AnyDigit 0+) to (AnyDigit 1+) inside the find. It now works perfectly. Many hours saved, so thank you.

Crashing with find and replace

Hello Can't seem to solve this problem. I have a large document with several thousand superscript footnote numbers. Many of these are the wrong side of a punctuation mark, e.g. word/superscript number/colon. I want to change these to word/colon/superscript number (and likewise with other punctuation...

Martin Format > Language is British. Try and replicate what I am saying. Create a new blank file. Change everything to English (British), in Format > Language as well as in the Preferences making Languages tab set Language to English (British) [perhaps this is unnecessary but please indulge me] and ...

The problem I have with this is, say I am working on a document, everything set to British. I make some QuickFix changes (say an abbreviation that I want filling out). I save close etc. When I go back in that QuickFix abbreviation is no longer immediately available (because Quickfix has gone back to...

Create a new file. Change everything to British. Open up the preferences. Go to the Languages tab. Set that to English (British). Go to QuickFix. Set the Language there to English (British). Close preferences. Type a word or two and save. Close Nisus. Open up the document. Go into the preferences. P...

Thanks for your patience Martin. I have always done as you've described. However were I then to create a new document from any such created file template with British English as its language, the Languages preference is blank and the QuickFix defaulted to US (-which is the annoying thing because any...

Thanks for your reply Martin. My problem is that I cannot get the global language to stick within the preferences (namely British English). Even when I create a Nisus New file without text, change everything to British English and save as template. Start a new, empty file from that and in Nisus Lang...

I have a similar problem with British and US English preferences. It seems like any file that has to leave Nisus (to Word say) and then come back irreparably loses it British English preference on the Languages tab of Nisus preferences and in consequence the QuickFix then defaults back to US setting...

Find and Replace defaults

Is there any way of changing the default settings for Find and Replace. For example, having Find and Replace start up with Whole Word checked and Ignore Case unchecked?
Thanks

Hello Martin
Probably a bit late on this as I've only just joined, but I have a use for your counter macro coded above. Unfortunately I keep getting an error message on the $count line. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
