Re: Pages inside a Document

OK, I got it. Less complicated than I thought. You obviously just dragged a PDF into the foreground of SP, not into the background as I first assumed, and what you got is an image of the *first* page, which may be OK if the PDF has only one page. If you have a PDF with many pages, it seems you need ...

Re: Pages inside a Document

Sorry if I misunderstood your idea. This is about showing the areas on several documents that I wish to contest. Therefore I have to layout a page using the page I am referencing, show boxes and errors and numbers to reference what I am pointing out, then then provide a follow on narrative using the...

Re: Pages inside a Document

Hello, Trying to ram multiple PDFs into one Nisus document isn't a good idea. If it were possible, it would just make your Nisus document unnecessarily bloated. No need to duplicate the PDFs after you have already created direct links to them in Nisus. I would create a link to the document (PDF) in ...

Re: Changing the default formatting of Comments

Hello Martin, Thank you very much for correcting me. I changed the way my comments look like to Times 7 a long time ago, but obviously I had forgotten how I did it. Looking at my "Comment" style now, I see it looks exactly as I want it to be; so I must have changed that style back then. Thank...

Re: Print Button

there's one aesthetic inconsistency that I'd love to see fixed Hi Stoob, Would you like to have the icon look like this one? 1) Print.png 1. You can find this icon if you right-click on the Nisus application icon and open the folder Resources. Look for an icon named "touchBar-print@2x.png". (This l...

Re: Unusual behavior of footnotes in a section

Thank you Hamid. Using the search term "limitation" I just found an almost identical thread from 2015. Then Martin's answer was: I'm glad you ferreted out the culprit Timotheus, but unfortunately there is no way to prevent the unwanted behavior. This interaction is an unfortunate limitation in our p...

Unusual behavior of footnotes in a section

If I write some text and then execute the menu command Insert –> Section Break –> Same Page, a new section begins at the insertion point on the current page and the text of the new section will appear on the same page as expected. However, as soon as I add a footnote in a section, a blank space will...

Re: Losing styles after rtf being edited by another program

Hello there, new user here. Hello and welcome to the Nisus forum. :-) whenever a rtf document is edited by any other program (e.g. TextEdit, DEVONthink Pro Office), it loses the Nisus Writer Pro Styles that's associated with it (Character Styles, Paragraph Styles etc). DEVONthink and TextEdit rely ...

Re: Hotkeys for paragraph styles

Multi-key shortcuts are explained on p. 573 in Nisus User's Guide. See "Menu Keys for Menu Commands." Nisus allows you to define shortcuts of up to 3 keys in length. That was long time ago. Now this limitation does not apply anymore. You can now use as many characters as you like, which I think is a...

Re: Text Variables in NWP 3?

Well, I'll have to look into that. Na, da bin ich gespannt … :-) Custom Properties and Glossaries are actually used for different things. Which one you use, depends on what you want to do. Scenario 1 Johann, your main character, is a Donaudampfschiffahrtsgesellschaftskapitän , and this word keeps c...
