Re: How do I apply a template to an existing document (RTF)

I redefined the Nisus New File.dot as well as the Normal document.dot in the Templates file, within the file: "Nisus Project" and just created a new document from these (tried both after the following failure). It just kept to take back to a "Normal" Style with Century Schoolbook which I have no ide...

post scriptum

. . . and when going through the shorter solution (open the New File I have defined, then pasting the whole of the preceding document), the styles do not conform to the template but keep their original font (Century schoolbook unavailable in Nisus) and paragraph definitions.

Re: How do I apply a template to an existing document (RTF)

HI, I have hundreds if not thousands of docs written first in MSWord for the last three decades and more. For most of them I use the same text and format definitions, with some differences here and there. Is there any way to have all older docs (already converted into rtf format) align with a the te...

Re: Fonts for NW Pro

I thank you all for the good will and availability. Right now I am almost obliged by the timetable to go on with NW pro, but as soon as possible, I will try to switch to another Processor hoping for something more stable, accepting the fact that it might be somewhat more rigid and less user friendly...

Re: Fonts for NW Pro

Thank you Elbrecht. I guess that the many problems I encounter with Nisus (still using it for now) are related to a specific feature of the app, which is that every document has a different treatment. For example if I enter some glossary entries in one document, I do not find them in another documen...

Re: Fonts for NW Pro

Thank you; you are right, it works simply that way. Right now I am struggling with Nisus Writer Pro, which changes the fonts in some of my defined styles and I do not know how and why. Sometimes it goes to a SF thing and some other times returns to Times New Roman within the same style of the same d...

Re: Remove styles

Thank you for so much good will to help Phillip. I might have been imprecise in my description and this could explain why this conversation begins to resemble the chess party through mail described by Woody Allen in his "Philosophical Essays" :). Mea culpa, for the best I have to do now is, in the h...

Re: Remove styles

I also tried to open from within the Nisus Project Folder My Own Style Library and it opens a document on which ONE of my styles name is written at the top of the page. If I try to open the template I have created a few days ago named Nisus New File.dot, the Mac attempts to open it with Pages and I ...

Re: Remove styles

Thank you, I can delete the styles, this is not a problem, and I did it again this morning. The question is why should I do this again and again ? I deleted some 80 styles. Is there not a possibility to have one and only one Style Library for all doc I open ? BTW the so called "My Own Library" of st...

Fonts for NW Pro

Hi, The fonts I would use in MSWord being absent from the choice within the NW Pro, I tried Didot but it is not very well contrasted (I mean its black is leaning toward grey). It seems that only the Times New Roman is ok (and more or less acceptable in my eyes). Would you recommend some fonts to use...

Unstable styles library

each time I reopen a document I have already used in Nisus, I get in the View/Style Sheet all kind of styles I had already deleted from it (lists, labels with numbers, etc.) It appears there probably is some unstability with this feature in Nisus, unless there is a level of defining this I have not ...

Re: Remove styles

Thank you. I open the Doc Manager and find no such a thing as Style Library, only a series of buttons to define the "File Listing Options". The second way however is ok, I see "My Own Library" as I named it. It has lost all my previously defined styles. Now if I do as I understand you recommend (I g...

Re: Remove styles

Hi again, I am rather happy with Nisus, but still a little bit concerned about the stability of my choices regarding the styles. Each time I open a document, I get only some of my preferred own defined style. Sometimes I am used to import form My Library Style and again I have to check all the desir...

Re: hyphenation

Thank you Adrian. I admire your self confidence in a right spelling. But maybe you are right and computer spelling just introduces the bad habit of being neglectful when writing. I remember an age when I was good in having the correct orthography, a long time ago. . .
