The idea of creating Macro Sets is an interesting one as well...how do you think users would use this feature? I used to use Classic Nisus for both word processing and text editing (because it was easier to use something I was familiar with than to use a dedicated text editor). The macros for diffe...

I think that it is only partly true that more features equals more complication. Classic Nisus had a pretty powerful "named ruler" system that was really intuitive. I am hoping we will see that reappear soon. Classic Nisus also had a really powerful search and replace system (partially replicated in...

Now...if a user selects "Open Macro Folder", I'm not sure which one this should open... Under what conditions is one expected to use the "Open Macro Folder" command? One really has to answer that question in the context of what task the user is attempting to perform, however, I am willing to give a...

The Library folder you need to use is in your home folder. It just occured to me Charles, if the macros are in *one* user's folder, what happens with multiple users? Multiple macro folders? I was wondering the same thing. It seems like macros in /Library should be available to all users and macros ...

Re: Oddities noted on first trial
Generally I agree with your comments; however I had the following notes. * "Nisus" in text is red-underlined - is it not in the dictionary?!? Nisus uses the system dictionary. It would seem a little presumptuous of Nisus to add their name to your dictionary. * There is no way to paste text only from...

Actually, I am just a user, and at this point, mostly an OS X user at that. As a result, I think you have exhausted my ideas. If you don't get a response in the next couple days, try support@nisus.com. They seem to be pretty good about replying.

I suppose I should also try to be helpful. What System version are you using? This page: http://www.nisus.com/NisusWriter/ suggests that you need 8.5 to run 6.5. 6.0.1 will run on 7.1 to 8.0.

Is the old Nisus Writer format dead?
I have some old NW documents that I would like to update. NWE messes up some of the formatting (in addition to losing the styles). Is there going to be an OS X version of Nisus which will correctly import NW classic styles?

Am I just missing it or does the manual say absolutely nothing about the syntax of Macros. Okay, so for perl macros you need to go learn perl, but how about the "Menu" macros. As far as I can see all the supplied macros are perl macros. I suppose with some trial and error I could figure out how to m...

I must admit that I find Nisus Thesaurus a little confusing at first. Maybe I'll get used to it. So the first think I type into it is neck. I get two senses of "neck" under similar: As in "external body part" cervix -> As in "pet" (v.) make out -> I take it the "As in" is a super-ordinate category a...
