Re: Really really strange behavior editing PowerFind Pro string

Your video is certainly very weird! I'm sure editing like that is totally impossible. That said, I haven't been able to reproduce the issue. Pasting your find expression (regex) into the Find window and editing it behaves normally for me. Are you able to reproduce the problem from scratch? Also, is ...

Re: Really slow reacting to typing in 3.0.1

Thanks for your sample John, it was perfect. We replied to you privately already, but the problem ended up being an old custom toolbar item. The menu targeted by the toolbar item no longer exists, and Nisus Writer was incorrectly spending a lot of time continually trying to find it. We will fix this...

Re: Changing size of text in different places

Thanks to Adrian for the help. I'm glad you got it working Howard. In case this situation arises again, I want to link to our FAQ topic that explains a few ways you can search for formatting in Nisus Writer . You don't necessarily need to use Find & Replace expressions, though that's certainly a goo...

Re: Really slow reacting to typing in 3.0.1

I'm sorry the inexplicable slowdowns have returned. To diagnose this it would be helpful for us to see an Activity Monitor sample. Please see our FAQ on how to capture an activity sample . The FAQ goes into the details, but basically you'll want to trigger the unexpected slowdown — perhaps by furiou...

Re: unwanted changes

That's a very good point. Perhaps having so many different sections wasn't intentional in the first place. You don't need multiple sections unless you want to customize or differentiate parts of your document in these ways.

Re: Hebrew font issue

Thanks for sharing your file with the font issues. This looks like a problem with the system (macOS) text engine, which Nisus Writer uses. You may observe the same issue if you open your file in Apple's TextEdit. Here is the text in a few apps: Nisus Writer: nisus.png TextEdit: TextEdit.png Microsof...

Re: NWP 3.0 and Erroneous Spellcheck

That fits with my own experience. The last spellchecking mistake I saw highlighted in Apple Mail was a word that felt like a grammar checker gone awry. The word was "than" or "then" if I remember correctly.

Re: unwanted changes

It sounds like your document has multiple sections. Each section is allowed to have its own custom header, footer, margins, etc. That includes restarting numbering as well. To control whether section headers and numbering reset for a particular section you will want to adjust the options in the Sect...

Re: Hebrew font issue

What font are you using exactly? Can you send us an example document? Just a single sentence example document (as in your screenshot) would help. You can send it to us using the menu Help > Send Feedback or via email:

Re: Annoying behavior in new version of Nisus Pro

Regarding this issue, I have heard of no solution. :( Is one immanent? We do plan to address the distracting repagination indicators in Page View. There's no solution available yet, but we are developing some now that could be ready as soon as the next software update. If you're interested in perha...

Re: NWP 3.0 and Erroneous Spellcheck

I'm sorry that didn't help. I wish I knew what else to suggest, but this does seem to be a system problem. In fact I just encountered it while replying to another topic here on the Nisus forums. You can see Safari incorrectly flagged the word "to" I had entered: spell.png Are you able to reliably tr...

Re: unwanted changes

What you describe sounds highly unusual, but certainly you won't need a new Mac. The headers should stay where you put them. Can you please describe what you are doing? In other words, how exactly are you changing your header position and what measurements are you entering? For example, here's a scr...

Re: text box

It sounds like you are trying to use a header. That's not technically a "text box" though it certainly looks like one. A header is just a text area that appears at the top of every page in your document, above your body text. You should be able to position and size your header however you like, so y...

Re: Template not showing in Document Manager

I'm sorry this was confusing for both of you. It would be nice if the Templates group behaved a bit more simply to automatically detect and list templates on all your Macs. The current behavior comes down to the fact that the Templates group is a Document Manager group that shows an arbitrary list o...

Re: NWP 3.0 and Erroneous Spellcheck

There were indeed spellchecking bugs in Nisus Writer Pro version 3.0. We believe version 3.0.1 fixes all known problems with spellchecking, at least on the Nisus Writer side of things. Unfortunately it looks like some users are still having intermittent issues with words being improperly flagged as ...
