Try it. Create a typical document in Nisus and see if it opens in Word. The only problems you may encounter would be with more complicated elements not tranferring (e.g. tables, images, etc.) 100% accurately. I have done tests and Nisus does do a good job.

Nisus 2.5 Beta 2 is slow; I can type faster than it can update (on a 1GHz G4 with 1GB memory).

With the recent news that future Micosoft Office (2005?) will support xml format (.docx) and the format will be free, non-royalty, and documented. I hope Nisus now reconsiders as 100% MS Word copatibility is possible.

I have problems with my Internet staying active since upgrading to Tiger. Interesting...everything else works but Internet access intermittently in unavailable, only in Tiger.

I just DL'd Alpha 7 at about 350KBps (that's about 2.8Mbps). Seems fine.

A G5 with 1GB of memory shouldn't struggle with a Word Processor. What version of NWE are you using and do you have any other processes running in the background?

Good to hear. In the Mellel forum, the state the advantage of Mellel XML would be the ability to "do things that couldn't be done in RTF." I think it's more of an "it's easier to make our own than to adhere to existing standards." I also made the point of who cares if it's a stan...

I'm in the middle of a thread on the Mellel forum about formats and import/export. It is interesting to note that people seem to feel Nisus and Mellel are mostly equal and people choose Nisus because of it's strong RTF import/export. The Mellel folks have decided to create another open format for fi...

It seems simple to implement. I am all for it as well. We're talking no window, no borders, just a blank screen (customizable background and font colors please) with document open.

RTF is open and not MS I believe... Are there any tangible benefits to transition to that format?

Right. I think by reading your forums (while I'm at work of course) had led to some confusion about versions. Version 2.1.3. is the current release, but 2.5a3 is the current sneak peak (if I remember right). What I like about Camino and how they do it is the last stable release is a click away with ...

I'd like to see the following items on your web page (kind of like Camino does):

1. Known bug list
2. Stable release download link
3. Nightly build (or similar) download link

I guess this is as good of place to post this as any. I would absolutely love if the open/save dialog windows would be changed to sheets. So much more aesthetically pleasing to the eye...
