It doesn't seem to happen with my NWP 2.0.6. on Mavericks.

"Apps for Writers" at the App Store

There is a promotion type thing currently at the App Store called "Apps for Writers".

Quite a lot of applications are included but not Nisus Writer.

If you go to the App Store you will see "Apps for Writers" advertised somewhere at the top. It is not an actual category as such.

Re: iCloud Sync and Versioning

Well firstly I totally agree with dshan about the New Document Model which as he or she points out includes versioning. Once you have used this in TextEdit or Pages or other applications such as Preview or Pixelmator then you really don't want to go back to the older way of doing things. So it would...

Re: When are macros visible in the Finders Column view?

Just to come back to this once more. the following works and creates such a legible preview anytime you want: Change the macro extension to .rtf Open the macro, save, and close Change the extension back to .nwm And the result is that you have a working macro and a legible preview. Alternatively jus...

Re: Export List of Menu Keys?

Thank you Philip and Martin. I have both the macro files now. I was a little bit surprised that this could be done with macros because I didn't think it was possible with the classic Nisus Writer. I became pretty good with the basic like macro language of that but I don't think the shortcuts were ac...

Re: Nisus crashes under Mavericks

Geoff mentions a problem with accessing folders. He may be referring to accessing the Library folder which needs the option key held down so it can be seen in the Go To menu in the Finder. This was introduced in either Lion or Mountain Lion and some complain but personally I don't mind. This is act...

Re: Nisus crashes under Mavericks

Oh Geoff, have I got the site for you!: MacOS 7.0.1 in your browser This really takes me back. We didn't call it "OS" then, it was the "System". Also, Apple actually frowned on the use of the word "Mac" they always referred to the model as "Macintosh". The GU...

Export List of Menu Keys?

One of the many great things about Nisus Writer is the menu keys system, in particular how keys can be used in sequence. On the classic version it was possible to export a list of all the menu keys that the user had set up. I used to find this list very useful. I can't find this in Nisus Writer Pro,...

Re: Nisus crashes under Mavericks

I have been using Mavericks on my MacBook Pro now for since it arrived and I think that there is a lot to like about it. I have yet to introduce it on my Mac Pro which is where I do all my "real work" with video editing and graphics etc. Geoff mentions a problem with accessing folders. He ...

Re: Nisus crashes under Mavericks

Trashing the plist seems to have worked. Thanks so much - i really rely on Nisus (have used it since it first came out) and it's great to have this help when something goes wrong. Pushing my luck a bit, given that this is a Nisus list, is there a comparable fix available for Mail or Parallels, both...

Re: .nisus ?

Thank you for your reply. I think I may use ".zrtf" files as my default saving file. I had read all about these in the NWP manual and I will say that I really like the idea of them. I have noted the additional information you have given here about them. It would be great if a QuickLook gen...

iCloud Sync and Versioning

I'd really like it if NWP had iCloud Sync and Versioning ☺ I know that some might say, "why bother with iCloud when you can use Dropbox" however I find I really like iCloud. I use a MacBook Pro and a Mac Pro and I love to be able to edit the same document on both. iCloud is really good wit...

Re: Feature Request: exception list for Display as Capitaliz

Here's my attempt at a macro to do this. Note that the package includes two macros. One is used to adjust the exempted words, but it shouldn't need to be run in general, and in fact, the main capitalization macro will call it the first time. After that you only need to run that macro, if you want t...

Re: Feature Request: exception list for Display as Capitaliz

This would be a very useful thing to have. I think all word processors should do this because I very frequently wish to have headings in which each word is has a capital letter but excluding words like "to" and "from". This could be done with a macro in NWP, I'm pretty sure. I co...

Spot the Error in the Manual

I wonder if you can spot the error in the manual?

On page 398 of the manual it says:

Edit a macro
1. Open the macro you want to edit by pressing A and choosing its name from the Macro menu.
2. Make any desired changes.
