Re: NWP spellchecker not working at all
Hi Kino, You're very kind, but your solutions are way above my pay grade. I'm not running Time Machine (backup is on mobile.me, which wouldn't have archived those files, I don't think....) I don't know what a plist is, and I am loathe to do anything that could mess things up worse than they are now....

Re: NWP spellchecker not working at all
Hi Kino, Thanks for weighing in (and sorry about wrong forum). I am scared to move files but will think about it. Not a system wide problem, b/c Mail spellchecking works fine. I was able to turn Spellcheck on from the Edit menu and so far, that's working. And no, didn't install Mouse Driver. (sound ...

NWP spellchecker not working at all
NWP has stopped marking misspelled words in my document. I've gone to Preferences, then Languages, and found that no language was checked -- so I checked English. No change. Tried closing doc and coming back, quitting NWP (when I open again, once more, no language checked in Preferences), restarting...

Re: help constructing (any) NWP macro
One more question --- I opened the template for find and replace in a new doc, inserted the terms I wanted, saved it as a macro, and it worked. But when I go to open it, I get a dialogue box that says Nisus doesn't recognize the application that created it (!). I tried doing it all again and saving ...

Re: help constructing (any) NWP macro
OMG, OMG! I just used the Nisus Template for Find and Replace and a glimmer of understanding is lightening my darkness. Thanks again, Hamid. Cheers, Candace

Re: help constructing (any) NWP macro
Very cool --- it worked! (I had to take out the formatting, then save in the font I use, or else it transformed the italicized text into the font you used -- but that's not a big deal.) Thank you so much!. Now can someone tell me how Hamid did this, so I can do it myself? Because I thought that the ...

help constructing (any) NWP macro
Long ago, Nisus Classic allowed you to do something, then capture the keystrokes in a macro. NWP won't do that, I know, but the manual says I just have to give it a "to do list." HA! I would like two things: 1) instructions on how to create the particular macro I will discuss; 2) a methodo...

Hi Martin, So if I switch to autosave to temporary backup file only, I should be able to find the last version of the document in the Document Manager? Classic Nisus used to have an option so when you autosaved every -- say 5 minutes, or 1000 keystrokes --- it saved the doc with a slightly different...

saving still a mystery to me
I have Nisus Writer Pro preferences set to autosave documents every two minutes, and to overwrite the old document. But I can't see where the autosave is happening ---- when I look at my documents file, the time for the document is the last time I did a manual "Save as." When I look in Doc...

I HAVE an Intel Mac, but I have been hesitant to upgrade it to Leopard for fear that NWP would get laggy and horrid. I'd be very happy to hear that wouldn't happen..... As for the Time Machine explanation, would Time Machine still be affecting things if one had never designated a back up or hooked i...

Re: leopard and nwp lag time
Slow at loading, but that's not my main concern. Slow at putting the type on the page on bigger documents., with maybe five footnotes total. I'm not sure what fancy formatting is, but I don't think these docs qualify. They are legal briefs, with some italic, some headings and subheadings, some sect...

Re: leopard and nwp lag time
Has anyone figured anything about NWP's excruciating slowness on Leopard on a IGHz Power PC G4 iMac with 1.25 Gh Memory? Word seems to be having no corresponding problems.... I have a new iBook with more oomph, but am hesitant to upgrade to Leopard on that in case NWP slows down there as well. It's...
