Re: Page Numbering
With the text cursor in the second section, be sure the "Section has different headers/footers" option is uncheckd in the Header/Footer pane. (Note: I'm not sure this is the name of the option in English; I'm reverse-translating). Then delete the page number from the first section's header...

Re: Facelift?
Another thing that I hope, is that opening the Drawer/Inspector does not change the editor's width, as it happens in so many modern applications. I just discovered that – I don't know when this happened – Pages no longer changes the editor window's size. Now, the side sheet behave exactly as the ol...

Thank you very much for your replies.
P.H., thank you very much for the macro. At firt, I could not make it work, but then I understood that the original cell should have shading (background color) applied. It works great!

Re: Justification, Tracking, Kerning - available tools?
WF, When activating kerning and hyphenation, Nisus Writer can produce a very nice-looking page. However, there are some subtleties (like optical margin alignment) that it cannot do. If the text is meant for publishing, maybe you can subscribe to Adobe InDesign for just 30 days. It can read Nisus RTF...

O no! During the years, Anne has been so kind to become a friend to all us beginner writers. She was savvy, she was direct and friendly. I will miss her very much. My condolences to her family and friends.

When I import from Nisus Writer Pro to InDesign CS6, paragraph and character styles are automatically imported.

Re: Nisus Writer Pro file format docx and rtf
It's funny that Apple seems to recognize the fault of Pages. In a support note, they explain how to read RTF with a workaround: "If you'd like to work with Rich Text Format (.rtf) documents, you can copy and paste the content into a new Pages document and it will retain its formatting." ht...

Re: Nisus Writer Pro file format docx and rtf
The feeling I'm getting about formats, is that we really are at the mercy of the big names; we don't know what will be dominant five years from now, let alone ten or fifteen, or if they will be supporting the older files. Well, RTF is probably the format that has crossed times better. I can still r...

Re: Future viability of Nisus
Emilio is right, but there are considerations about RTF to be kept in mind: - RTF is a widely supported interchange standard; despite several dialects exist, they are all widely compatible; - contrary to DOC, RTF is future-proof, since text strings can still be read and extracted from the file; - re...

Re: Future viability of Nisus
In case you like to separate content from formatting, the markdown version implemented in Ulysses III (Markdown XL) is not bad. It seems to me to cover everything a writer needs (document outlining and structuring, emphasis, keywording, commenting, annotating, linking to internal and external target...

Re: Future viability of Nisus
RTF is not a standard format of iOS, and the new Pages cannot read or save RTF files. At the moment, the only support for RTF provided by Apple is in TextEdit for Mac.

Re: Future viability of Nisus
iPads? Is anyone till using them? Talk about behind the wave! :) Well, I know of a writer (or two) who have purchased the thing. :) Admittedly, Apple no longer supporting RTF is sort of a boycott for many text editor developers. And a disaster for future archiving: reading binary DOCs will not be a...

At the same time, sandboxing means Continuity, that may be nice for users of both desktop and notebook Macs. And – don't you smell iPads, when reading "iCloud"?

Re: Future viability of Nisus
We asked Apple for four years about the future of Pages.
Then, the new mini-Pages arrived.
Sometimes, it is better not to ask!

Re: Search for Font Size then replace with Style
Still, I believe that using the "Select All" command under the Character icon (lower-right side or the document's window) is a much easier and quicker way of doing the same.
