I thought your idea of putting templates in the Document Manager was pretty ingenious. I see two potential pitfalls, though. 1. The Document Manager doesn't give you a box to uncheck, so you can't as easily open a template for editing through the Document Manager. True ... but for the moment I surv...

Hi, Mark. Though internally Nisus Writer Express refers to the "Document Manager," the folder is called "Nisus Documents." Nisus Writer Express should have automatically created the "Backups" folder and, I suppose, the others you mentioned. Just leave those sub-folders...

nor could I find the Document Manager folder on disk ... as it was empty at the time I looked for it, so maybe it didn't actually exist. The Document Manager folder is located in your home directory at: ~/Documents/Nisus Documents/ and should be created automatically when you start Express. If not,...

Hi, Thank you all, your advise has been helpfull and I think this will solve my problem. However, does saving as RTF prevent me from using tables and pictures? Anat No. It will save both. Tables save happily. The only thing is with images ... if you save a document as RTF, the image is integrated i...

Part of the problem might be that Nisus Writer Express remembers the last format in which you saved a document. If you created a template early in the session, subsequently saved documents will also be saved as templates until you change that setting. This was also true of Nisus Writer Classic. Whe...

I, too, am having problems with styling in NWE 2.7. <snip> 2. To get all headings into my chosen font, do I need to adjust each one, or is there a way to tell NWE I want all headings in that font and size? Be canny .... set the font in Heading 1, then when you come to Heading 2, select "Based ...

One of the causes of such a long list is that Nisus Writer Classic was so extremely capable. I had Nisus Writer, from a very early version. However, I regret to say, that even though I knew how powerful it was, I never used it as my main word-processor. Main reasons were having to work with Word fo...

I must admit I'm glad I'm not there in Nisus having to decide amongst all the competing wish lists for NWE. Lots of you want this for macros, that for macros ... I have never found a need for macros, I prefer document templates. So rather than macros, I would like to see an "open from template&...

In my case -Intaglio and NWX-, the Linkback system as described above works fine only if the Intaglio app is running. Otherwise, when I double-clik on a Intaglio image in a NWX document, the System sends me "Cannot find Intaglio.. {...} Be sure Intaglio is your Applications folder or Get the a...

Re: one more thing

Is there a way to make NWE go into OmniOraphic.... I can't see importing OO into NWE, butt using the wordprocessing capablities of NWE would be helpful -- to me. It's not that there isn't good word processing in OO, just I like NWE better -- ;-) good evening Gem*Boy Currently no. That is to say you...

Re: must have the right program

Okay... I got a linkback from NWE 2.7 to Sketch one trick that I didn't notice before is when you double click on the image in NWE and it takes you to the linkback (Sketch image) and you change it, you have to save THEN it changes in the NWE file. of course I want it to work with OminiOutliner...bu...

O I know how they work, I just can't make it work for me..... thanks Gem*Boy I've just had a look at the Image Tricks site and the LinkBack site. Image Tricks apparently uses LinkBack, but I get the impression that it will only work in conjunction with another graphics app like the others Belight p...

been http://www.linkbackproject.org/ (there), but it just doesn't make sense to me... I understand 'client' and 'server' I just don't see where the various 'clicks' are to make the linkback work Gem*Boy For instance: if you create a graphic in OmniGraffle; select all and copy, open an NWE document ...

I haven't tried importing of MS Word documents into NWE. I think if I were to set about it the first thing I'd try is to save the Word documents as RTF then try opening those in Nisus Writer Express. I spend much of my time importing MSWord documents into NWE, mostly produced in various flavours of...
