It's great to hear that bullets and numbers are on their way. A request for these and other new features: please don't assign a keystroke command to them that is bound to that command. Instead, let the users define their own command(s) – or (even better) allow any keystroke command to be assigned to...

My guess is it's looking for an updated version of the program.

You can turn this off in the General Preferences pane - at the bottom.

gke - I think I understand some of your frustration. At the same time one of my points (not terribly well made), is that I sometimes wonder if customers have become unrealistically accustomed to expecting fast upgrades and revisions, and are then upset when the new version doesn't deliver as they wa...

For me as well this is the single thing missing under MacOS X, a full-featured, snappy word processor like Word 98 was under OS 9.2.2. I agree that there has yet to be a word processor released for OS X that includes the features of programs released for previous versions of the Mac OS. The fact th...

I'm not sure this is such a good idea from a marketing point of view. Yes, there may be bugs in a piece of software, but I think you need to remember that not all users experience these bugs. I've been using NWE a lot since v2.0, and have experienced none of the problems with speed or stability that...

You can set your view to 142% in your Nisus New File so that all new documents start at that magnification level.

Actually, I don't use the toobar at all and rely instead on keyboard commands and the tool drawer. In programs where I use the toolbar, it depends on the program. As a general rule, the more text-based the program, the less I want icons, and if I use the toolbar, it's text only. With more visually-b...

What I find with copying and pasting table data is the the pasted data in almost invariably in Times 12 point, regardless of the style in the first version in the table. This has been an issue since 2.0.

For alternatives to Excel, I suggest you take a look at either Mariner Calc or Mesa. You can download evaluation copies for either from the developers (Mariner Software, P&L Software, respectively) or through Version Tracker. There may be some others out there, but I've found these to be the str...

Tom - I can somewhat understand your frustration, but have to add that at this point in the development of OS X there really isn't _any_ word processor out there that matches the feature sets _and_ ease of use that was available prior to the release of OS X. (I'll admit Word comes close, but the blo...

Dennis -

I guess that's a possibility - I really wasn't sure. I'm not having problems with scrolling with 40-60 page documents, so it was kind of a shot in the dark. I still recommend more RAM, though, if you want to keep multiple programs open and have things operating in the background.

I've had very few speed problems with the program so far, but have to wonder if you really do have enough RAM. 512MB really is the bare minimum if you want to get stuff done, and if you're finding that other programs aren't quite as fast as you want them to be, you might consider adding some more RA...

I've had some consistent crashing problems with table shading, but other than that I've found the program quite stable, and the command-N combination (which I use a lot) hasn't given me any problems. I'd suggest that you send feedback about the crash from within the program, as I believe a crash log...

I think (but I'm not sure) that you need to delete the program, the preferences file, and the Nisus Express file in your Application Support folder (go to your Home folder and then go the Library folder within that folder.) That should do it.

Speed

I haven't been having any problems at all with launching and scrolling. Opening a document sometimes takes a bit longer than I anticipate, but there's been nothing that has alarmed me. I'm quite happy with it.
