Please please please do NOT make the default behavior to auto-discover links. Word makes me want to throw my computer out the window every. single. time. it. does. this. It is the most utterly counter-intuitive behavior in the world and could only have been the brainchild of a company that didn't th...

Adam: I wouldn't expect a reply. I think I killed the Nisus guys sending feedback the other day. ;)

Re: thanks

hmmm where can you get a list of those OSX tricks ?? You know, I can't remember where I picked that one up. It's just one of those things...like holding down the command key and moving windows in the background or using keyboard shortcuts (cmd-W, cmd-O, cmd-M, cmd-shift-A/H/C, etc.) You might try M...

You don't even have to do that. On OS X, cntrl-t will reverse two letters. If you type "teh," just stick the cursor between the "e" and the "h" and press cntrl-t. The two letters will be transposed.

Re: Endnote placement

Hi- I find it cramps my style a bit to have endnotes jammed up against the bottom of my text. Is it possible to have them sit at the bottom of the page, or to reside on a page(s) of their own? Right now I do it manually by inserting a page break right before the endnotes. Cheers, Adam I disagree. E...

I think the word you are looking for is a "hanging" indent. This is intended to help you with doing lists and such. You can try using the "Block Quote" paragraph style for your needs. Click on the little blue P square at the bottom of the window. -Charles IMO, that's really fair...

I've experienced some weirdness with documents created in Word being moved to NWE, as well, and my suspicion is that it's about styles. I suggest that you download the beta and note any irregularities and file bug reports to Nisus.

NWE defaults to an RTF file format. There should be no reason for Word not to open a NWE file. I move back and forth between NWE and Word all the time.

Was a7 the last alpha? If not, can you upgrade? The beta is working nicely.

Re: once in a while

alpha 7 os 10.3.9 I am having an occasional problem. Mainly it happens if I have had NWE open for a long time, as in a day. What happens is it will crash, but the odd thing is -- though I can't get to it, either by clicking on it or tabbing to it, I can see that it is open. In other words it hasn't...

I've finally managed to get a real project going in NWE (instead of importing old projects from Word), and I'm curious: why are footnotes not contained in the footer? If I remember correctly, most other word processors stick them there. Edit: footnotes are maintained when opening the same file in Wo...

I'm with you. I just left London, where I was doing some research/writing. I began taking my notes in Word. I finished them in NWE, since Word was driving me nuts trying to anticipate every stupid little thing.
