Beta 8 should take care of this problem. Just tried it with Beta 8 and it still doesn't work for me. Are we talking about the same thing? When I copy citation using the blue button next to 'attach' in the BEnds ref window, nothing happens. Do the same with Word 2004 and BE hands over and pastes in ...

Re: Bookends and 2.7 beta 6

I can't get Bookends to copy citations into footnotes. I checked all settings etc., downloaded the latest version of Bookends. Still doesn't work. Bettina Have you specifed NWE as the word processor in BE prefs? If you do copy formatted (top right of the ref window) and then do a paste at the inser...

Re: Footnote divider

In NW classic I seem to recall that it was possible to set the distance between the horizontal line above the footnotes and the text above. Is this no longer possible? I have some text that is pretty much sitting on the line and it looks terrible. I would like to see that facility but it is fairly ...

Re: how to use Bookends with NWE?

...........my temporary citations aren't changed to the proper style (i.e. changing brackets to parentheses). Is there something simple that I'm missing? I think this is more likely to be something in Bookends. I'm assuming you are using Harvard style but have you checked the stlyle settings? It mi...

Re: Section breaks

I miss the visible section breaks and page breaks in draft view.... They should be there... are you sure "show invisibles" is turned on for that document? --Craig I have invisibles on and there are no visible page breaks in Draft View, even though invisibles are in black. X10.4.3 1Gb Ram ...

I really .........When I'm slamming out a draft, if I make my window reeeeaaally wide, the text can fill that up. I don't want to even have the possibility of thinking how the text is going to look on a printed page, because, for me, that's not a draft......... Something I would like to see is an i...

..........Have been using Bookend together with Mellel since my studies at the university demands a more mature WP than NWE can offer right now. NWE is good, but still lacks some features that Mellel already has. I hope that Nisus will start to work together with Sonny Software in trying to integra...

I am, of course, assuming you're using NWE 2.5
Thanks Midwinter - I missed the Bookends Scan a doc in my reply to Heidii :-) I generally use footnotes and paste in the reference.

.......there is nothing mentioned like bookends Can't remember but I think you may have to manually copy them from the Bookends disk. It might also be worth hanging out on the Bookends forum which you can find via the SonnySoftware site. http://www.sonnysoftware.com They're a helpful crowd. Jon Ash...

On my work computer I get the same virus alert every single time I click on "support" on the Nisus home page. Edit: I think some of you don't have the virus or even the cache on your computer because you are using Java 1.4.2. I have Java 1.5 on both my work and home computer (Apple releas...

Just want to point out that I visit this site regularly, and I haven't picked up any Java viruses. Unless the files noted are invisible, I don't even have a Java cache folder in my User Library. I checked mine but couldn't find any of the files listed although I do have a Java cache folder - no ide...

I think someone from Nisus should have replied to this. Tthe Safari MS05-013 looks like a Windows only virus and ineffective on a Mac. Don't know about the Java stuff but maybe it could be problematic.

Footnote separator and first footnote

I notice on a doc that I have just printed, that the first footnote is uncomfortably close to the line separator to the point where they virtually run into each other. it could do with another 2 points of separation. Could this be fixed in the next update please? Anyone else notice it? I didn't noti...

NW 2.5 is using 76 MB on my machine 10.4.2 without doing a thing. OTOH, I never believe MS or Apple on what a minimum system should be 256 MB wasn't adequate under OS 9, no less OS X. That said 76 MB for a WP that has done nothing but launch is a bit much. However, it doesn't use the CPU when not i...
