Re: Check Spelling Hell
Existing documents store the setting in the file itself, just as with other view settings, eg: Draft vs Page view, show rulers, show invisibles, etc. We believe that saving the document view/editing state on a per-file basis is a useful feature. Agreed. But it is time for the team to rethink this. ...

Re: Check Spelling Hell
That checkbox can set it to be ON for all new documents,
but it doesn't work to set it OFF for all documents.
Most of us want it off, not on.

Re: Check Spelling Hell
Thanks for pointing that out, Geoff, but the problem is bigger than that. There are really three design problems involved: (1) "Check Spelling as You Type" is saved with the document. This is just silly. To demonstrate it for yourself, do this: — Modify a document. Then, just before you sa...

Check Spelling Hell
I maintain that it was a mistake for Nisus to make "Check Spelling as You Type" effective only on a per-document basis. It should operate for ALL documents, not one document at a time. The way it is now, this situation is possible: "Check Spelling as You Type" is NOT checked in N...

Re: Feature Request for Filename
That is exactly what I needed to know. Thank you!NWP actually does this now. If your document body is empty, but the header is not, the header will be used for the suggested file name.

Re: Feature Request for Filename
Once again, a new version has appeared without my feature request.
Hence, my annual post.
Please include the option to have new documents named with the contents of the
document header instead of the first words in the body of the document.

Tooldrawer won't stay shut
I save all of my documents with the tooldrawer closed, yet every document always opens with the tooldrawer open. I can't stop it. There is no option, no setting to turn it off. In the View tab of Preferences, I have the Tooldrawer popup menu set to Always Closed, yet it is NEVER closed. Is there som...

That did it! Thanks. Where this happens to me is in text that has been pasted from websites.

List Items Begin with Gray Tab
The tab that follows each of my list bullets and numbers has a gray background.
I cannot find a way to get rid of them either in the Lists pallette or any other style tool.
Any ideas?

Just making my annual request for the next version of Nisus Writer.

If you don't go right, what's left? Right?
I copied and pasted text from a normal Web page and ended up with a document that reverses the right and left arrow keys. This sounds like a problem similar to the one in this thread: http://www.nisus.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1300 What is going on, and how can I reverse the reverse? I could paste p...
