Copy-and-paste table-rows
Copy-and-paste table-rows
I have got a table of say 50 rows. I want to copy Rows 10-19 and paste them to the top of the table, so that they become Rows 1-10. How do I do that, please ?
Re: Copy-and-paste table-rows
Copy or move?
- Select lines 10-19. Make sure to select the whole line(s), for example use <option><command>A to select.
- Copy (<command>C) or Cut(<command>X) for moving.
- Place the insertion point at the start of the content of the leftmost/first cell in Row 1 of the table
- Paste

Re: Copy-and-paste table-rows
Thank you, but I have got 3 columns -- A,B and C. I have proceeded as follows:
1. Click insertion=point in 10A.
2. Holding down Shift, click insertion-point in 19C.
3. Click Table, Select, Rows.
4. Click Edit, Copy
5. Click insertion=point in 1A.
6. Click Edit, Paste.
This does not work for me. What am I doing wrong, please ?

Re: Copy-and-paste table-rows
I'm not sure why you need to to do step 3, but I also don't see why that would hurt.
My main question is; you say "This does not work for me." What doesn't work about it? You'll have to describe the problem, if you want some more help. For me these steps work fine.
There are other ways you can do this (Insert 10 empty rows at the top, select them and paste the copied rows over/into them.)
But here are some screenshots from my own attempt to follow my procedure.
Select the cells Select the rows Cut the rows

Thank you so much for all the care that you have taken to help me, and my apology for my incomplete explanation. All is now well !
