Cross referencing list items

Post by dgell »

When I insert a cross reference to a list item number, the number is always prefixed with a tab. There is no text in the "before text" box in the list format pallet. How do I get the cross reference to be inserted without the leading tab character?

Thanks

Hi David, I believe I may have reproduced the bug you're running into. It looks like it's only a problem if the list number is center or right aligned- is that correct?

The text into which the cross reference is inserted is left justified, ragged right. The list item is left justified. I can send you the file, but it is rather large, 21.5 MB.

To be sure, the Lists palette "Align" property shows as "Left"? If so, could you simply copy the relevant content from the large document into a new sample document? If the smaller file doesn't share the problem, the larger one will be fine. Could you send it via the menu Help > Send Feedback? Thank you!
