Complete Table of Content/Outline text visualization

I am considering to migrate from Mellel 4 to NWP 3. I like to use the Outline view to see the structure of the text.

The equivalent function in NWP is Table of Content in the Navigator. In Mellel, longer titles are conveniently arranged so as to fit entirely within the space available, using a nested multiline structure if necessary.

Is there a way to do the same thing in NWP? Right now I can only see the first few words of each title unless I enlarge the Navigator quite a bit.

I'm afraid the only thing you can do besides changing the width of the Navigator sidebar is to change the font and font size of the text inside it. In Preferences->Appearance, there's a preference for the Navigator sidebar font. Making the text smaller will allow more of it to show up. But if you have entire paragraphs in the heading style, there's not much to do other than make the navigator sidebar bigger.

Wish I had better news. Nisus does ok as an outliner, but its strengths lie more in other areas.

G’day, mlemaire et al

One possibility is to insert the Table of Contents into your actual document and then use the newly incorporated Split View feature to keep the TOC in view while you work elsewhere in the document. This way, you can use whatever formatting you like to view the TOC.

Cheers,
