Strange scrolling behavior

Post by jonathandueck »

I'm experiencing a very strange behavior in NWE 2.5. I'm editing a file (with endnotes) and the following may occur: I'm writing on some page several pages after the first, i.e. page 3 or 4, and when I stop typing and move the mouse, NWE dumps me back to the first page.

If I type again, I'm returned to my pg. 3 or 4.

However, this is obnoxious behavior if what you intend to do is not keep typing, but rather select something with the mouse. I have to scroll back to p. 3 or 4 with the mouse in order to select my text.

The next time I stop typing and move the mouse, it dumps me back to page one again.

Any ideas?

Jon,

I'm sorry this happens to you.

A.
Does it happen in the same document after you save, close and quit Nisus Writer Express… then restart and open the file?

B.
Does it happen in other (similar) documents?

C.
If yes, to either of the above, can you send a copy of the file to support@nisus.com for me to test it and see what I can figure out?

I have updated information from an engineer:
this is a known problem that has been fixed in the next update to Nisus Writer Express 2.5

Thanks for the reply -- is there a workaround for this behavior in the meantime?

I'm sorry to say so but I don't think there is Jonathan. However, I believe the bug occurs much less frequently in Draft view.
