Hello friends,
By default we use the font Iowan Old Style, set to Roman. In the past couple of weeks we have seen strange behavior where we change to italic, then change our minds, and un-italicise the phrase. When this is done, the font changes to the "black" font weight. There are also other instances of the "black" weight showing up. For instance, when copying from Nisus to Mac Mail, selecting a paragraph formatted Iowan Old Style Roman, and pasting it into mail, it becomes the Black weight.
Do you have an idea of a cause for this, and a solution?
We have Mac OS 11.5.2 and Nisus version 3.2.1.
Thanking you in advance for your sagely help.

Re: Strange behavior of fonts: defaulting to Black
Hi Simeon –
I am still running High Sierra and don't own Iowan Old Style – so I am of no help to you, sorry. But if you do not need Black for your job, I would try to Delete or Deactivate the Black variants in Font Book – may that does the trick for you!
Good luck

Thank you , Elbrecht, this has solved the problem. The source of the problem is still a mystery, but with solution it doesn't matter.
