Re: Underline not showing for leading tab

However, the order in which you underline and add a paragraph return is still important. If you underline before you add the paragraph return, subsequent text will also appear underlined (but the rest of the original line won't). You need to append your paragraph return before underlining the prece...

Re: Underline not showing for leading tab

Coming a bit late to this discussion, but the fixed-width space ("option space") underlines just fine. In general for the discussed purpose I would have recommended using a (string of) option-spaces instead of a tab. But the combination of option-space + tab also works. Opt+Space does cau...

Re: Underline not showing for leading tab

You can put an invisible character before the Tab (by coloring it the same as the background) and then underline the entire line, but the underline will appear as a (slight) indent. Yes, I'd come to this conclusion myself. You are right though that visually it isn't ideal. Most other word processor...

Underline not showing for leading tab

I want to have a paragraph where the first character in the line is a tab, with the whole line of text underlined. At the moment, Nisus Writer only underlines the tab character if there is something else preceding it, such as a . or a number at the start of the line. E.g. if I have this: 1. Text The...

Re: Expand glossary in current font and size

Hi Phillip, Thank you, that's extremely helpful, especially the idea of a style with no attributes. Am I right in thinking that if I have a style with the same name in my document, the expanded glossary items will take on my document style's attributes? Or would I have to wait until I have inserted ...

Table question

Hi, (BTW, thanks for Nisus: I'm beginning to really love it, and appreciate all the work that has gone into it.) When I create a new table, the first row of the table ends up with some space above it. As an example, here's a new document with two columns to demo: https://www.dropbox.com/s/h0zhx2m45q...

Re: Expand glossary in current font and size

Thanks for both answers, very helpful.

QuickFix is probably the way I should do this. The difficulty is that I'm working with a very large number of cuneiform signs. Is there a way to bulk input QuickFix items? Or does it have to be one by one?

Expand glossary in current font and size

Hi,

Is there any way to do an Expand Glossary command to just insert the Unicode characters, i.e. without changing the font or font size?

Cheers,
Lyndon

Re: Error on first new file (language issue)

that gave me the clue: I changed the keyboard layout from a bundle to individual files in the /Library/Keyboard layouts/ directory. Now it works. So Apple's API presumably isn't the one they are using themselves…

Thanks for working it all through, much appreciated.

Re: Error on first new file (language issue)

I can change the spelling dictionary and other settings (tried it for British English and for one other) and those changes are retained correctly.

Re: Error on first new file (language issue)

And final bit for the mo: with that suggestion, Nisus still loses my keyboard preference every restart. So it forces the British language option (and my Transliteration language) to use the British keyboard, no matter what I have set myself (what I set works as long as I don't restart Nisus, so it's...

Re: Error on first new file (language issue)

@phspaelti Good idea. If the British keyboard is in the System Preferences list of input sources, I get no error. And Nisus switches to that keyboard when it starts up. I'd have to say, it does look like there's something hard-coded? Or at least stuck in the preferences and not visible to me to alter?
