Re: Volume does not support Permanent Version Storage

After additional experimentation, I think the warning is produced only if I change the name or location of a document in the Finder while the document is open in NWP. The warning seems harmless: if I dismiss the warning dialog and then close the document, I do not lose any edits made to the document...

Volume does not support Permanent Version Storage

Often when I close a document, OS X displays the warning quoted in the subject of this topic. I haven’t figured out what situations trigger this. I am running the latest version of OS X on a 2017 MacBook Pro with an SSD having only one partition, formatted as APFS Encrypted. The document resides on ...

Re: A quicker way to delete Untitled files?

I use Cmd-W-delete, where I hold the Cmd key down the whole time but pause slightly before hitting the delete key. If you hit the delete key too soon, the Close dialog box is not ready to receive input and you get an error beep. Thanks! So the old cmd-D shortcut for the Save dialog's Delete button ...

Re: Title Case macro

Here's a perl macro from Aristotle Pagaltzis to convert text to title case. It should be easy to convert to a Nisus Macro for someone who, unlike me, knows both perl and the Nisus Macro language. http://plasmasturm.org/code/titlecase/ Philip, do you find anything useful in Aristotle's macro? Of cour...

Re: Feature Request: Gmail Mboxes

All mailboxes that appear in the Apple Mail user interface are included in InfoClick's database, regardless of whether the mailbox is "On My Mac" (local storage only) or IMAP. The term Archived has no special meaning in Apple Mail. I don’t know how you are defining your Archived mailbox, but the onl...

Re: Feature Request: Gmail Mboxes

I don’t think you need to add gmail as an account in Apple Mail. Instead, I believe you can import the mbox file directly using the Apple Mail command: File > Import Mailboxes.

Re: When will InfoClick be compatible with Mojave

Apple's "Sandbox" security restrictions prevent an application that's sold in the Apple App Store from accessing a folder until you have given permission to that application , regardless of what user permissions you set for that folder in GetInfo. In InfoClick, select the menu command Search > "Choo...

Re: Textexpander and NW3

Typinator always works perfectly for me in NWP and every other program. However, I don’t use the field feature of Typinator. In your case, it seems you are not actually using the field to retrieve a predefined or stored value, but you merely want to move the insertion point to a position within your...

Re: multiplication

P.S. Bob, all the files I open are mine. Most of them were created in Word and have either .doc or .docx specification. I open them first in LibreOffice where the data is best preserved than opening directly with NW Pro, then I close and reopen them with NWP. Everything I said about documents creat...

Re: multiplication

I lose styles from one doc to the next (some of them are opened from a converted to RTF format from DOCX through LibreOffice.app When you open in NWP a document that you did not create yourself — regardless of whether it was created in NWP, Word, LibreOffice, etc — it will include all the styles em...

Re: Nisus Pro opens with Text edit logo

This happens to me about once a year. First solution to try is to restart the Mac in "safe" mode, which deletes various MacOS caches. Follow these instructions: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262 After it finishes booting in safe mode, you need not follow any troubleshooting steps from the App...

Re: Insert paragraph numbers at the beginning of paragraphs

Thanks, Philip, for your excellent method of padding the number to 4 digits! I use paragraph numbering rather than line numbering, but I have the same requirement to pad with zeros. For years I've been using the awkward solution of 3 different paragraph styles for paragraph numbers in the range of 1...

Re: InfoClick to index achieves

Instead of removing your old mail from Apple Mail, you might consider moving it to one or more "On My Mac" mailboxes in Apple Mail. That will prevent it from slowing down your IMAP account, but it will continue to be indexed by Apple Mail and InfoClick. I do not think there is any downside: I have n...
