Apple font panel

The font panel used by Apple's TextEdit, and many 3rd party apps DOES support some OT features, and provides these services to the application. In TextEdit: Format->Font->Show Fonts opens the panel, which has a sub-menu (sprocket down arrow- at lower left) for Typography which is context sensitive. ...

OT fonts - Any chance

Any chance we'll soon see even minimal support for OT fonts?
Maybe just a switch for text numbers?

Or at least support for the features of the OS X font panel?

Thanks for any response.

Type and text formatting

are why I generally prefer Mellel. It supports Open Type features, such as small caps, swashes, old style figures, and many other OT features that make formatting papers much faster. Nisus does not choose to implement these, nor does it provide access to the OT features included in OS X. (I don't kn...

Slowww

Changes in existing document thru character panel (font, size) and and paragraph panel (spacing) take 30-45 secs to achieve. MUCH slower than b4, which was no demon itself.

iMac G5, Tiger build 8F46, 1G ram, etc.

For me, the problem disappeared in the 2.5 rcs, but reappeared in the final release.

Ligatures - STILL Absent

2.5b4 still does not insert ligatures by menu command.

Have verified existence of Ligs in font (not dfont)

This is an ongoing issue since NWE was released.

Why?

Thanks for your efforts.

Ligatures

The th ligature is a rare one in typography. The most common are fi and fl. Open new default page in a6. Type fi and fl Select face 'Georgia" (Standard Mac font, contains fi and fl ligs)) Select Use all ligatures in menu. I get no ligatures When I cut and paste this text into another word processor,...

ligatures a6

Still am not seeing any ligatures with typing or menu command unless pasted text already contains them confirmed in another text editor. Yes, the fonts I'm using have full ligatures. eg: I copy some internet news story into tex-edit plus (not text edit) to cleanup. One button 'cleanup document'. Lig...

Scrolling dropouts reported earlier are gone. Bravo. a6 does not use the default template, either when first opening, or when 'new' be selected from the menu. Have gone into prefs to edit the newfile template: template is correct,(yes, have redefined and saved) but the actual newfile opened is not. ...

Screen redraw improved, not perfect

The screen redraw on edit seems to work fine, but still see white lines thru text while scrolling. Screen is redrawn correctly when scroll is stopped.

Overall, interface is pleasant to use and imminently usable.

Good work!
