Thank you, Martin, for your incredibly helpful tech support. Nisus is such a wonderful tool to use. Your superb tech support is the cherry on top.I also wanted to make it perfectly clear that the problem is with macOS, not Nisus (or Bookends either). Maybe this will get fixed in 11.2.

I've been in touch with Jon all day. I think I've located the problem. If the cursor in NWP is sitting INSIDE a citation, and then a scan is performed, the output is a blank citation. If the cursor is sitting OUTSIDE a citation, the formatted output correct.

I think Jon is working on this.
