Re: Reversing Paragraph Line
Thanks for your response, Philip. I realized that you were pointing out complexities that I hadn't really thought through and it turns out that the best way to get the text in proper order was to do it manually. So I think my question is answered for now.

Reversing Paragraph Line
I have a Hebrew paragraph where the first line is really the last and so on through the paragraph. Is there a macro or some other way to reverse these lines so that what is now the first becomes the last and so on for each line? The macros I have don't do that. I've got the words themselves going fr...

Re: Inserting Vowels in Hebrew
Thank you, Hamid, for your response. Unfortunately, this is what I already tried though it's possible that I selected Hebrew Querty as the keyboard. When I next can access my wife's Air, I'll try that and see if that's what makes the difference. It's not about using Hebrew, however, and only about t...

Inserting Vowels in Hebrew
Many years ago, if one depressed the caps lock key then the numbers would become the vowel marks for Hebrew text. Then that feature disappeared and one had to press the option key along with the number key to get the desired vowel. Then, someone on the other Nisus list sent me something called Hebre...

Re: Character Palette
I had actually tried that even before I first posted my question. It didn't help and I just tried it again and the sliding is still there. I too, obviously, am intrigued by this. I don't remember it even happening before, because it drew my attention as something unfamiliar. But I also have no expla...

Re: Character Palette
Hi Martin I'm back where I started. The palette list slides to the left (and right), but apparently only in this one document. As long as that's the case, I'll just live with it since it's a minor inconvenience which will end when I finish the document. If this returns later in other files, I'll ask...

Re: Character Palette
It's become even stranger all of a sudden. I'm using Mojave10.14.6 since I decided to bypass Catalina. I can't tell any more when it happens. It now seems that is has become stable and I can't make it happen when I want to, but I noticed it primarily when working on a document originally done in wor...

Re: Character Palette
Thanks for the quick reply, Martin.
Yes, I am thinking of the character palette and here, I hope are two screen shots.

Character Palette
I'm editing a document which requires that I change the font on a regular basis. But when I go to the character palette, the font names often slide to the left and out of sight. I don't remember this happening before and wonder if anyone know why and whether there is a way to freeze it in place.

Re: Fles Save in Glossary Format
Thanks again, Martin. I also can't generate the problem consistently and we both had been using the Save As option as a workaround when needed. What is still curious is why her files were saved as Glossary file, which is what it says when I open Get Info or look at it in the finder. But that doesn't...

Re: Fles Save in Glossary Format
Thanks for your response, Martin and I think you've identified the problem. I opened a new document just now in NWPro, saved it, added some text and moved the file to another location before saving. I didn't get the same message, but I did get one that said I don't have permission to write to that f...

Fles Save in Glossary Format
For reasons I haven't been able to understand, files that my wife is creating won't save. The message is that the file exists on a device that doesn't allow storage. When I checked the file in the finder, I saw that it seems to be a Nisus Glossary file, which is why I'm assuming it won't accept any ...

Re: direction of writing
The only time I can remember something like this happening, Yohanan, was in the early days of Hebrew fonts when they weren’t automatically set to go right to left and had to be entered in reverse order. Drogulin comes to mind as one example. So maybe that’s the issue with Yehudit?

Re: Hebrew font issue
See if you have New Peninim in the Font Book.
As I said, I now think the issue is not with Times New Roman but with Narkisim, which I think is a PC font, so the placement of nekudot may be different from the way it is in a Mac.

Re: Hebrew font issue
One more thing: In the file you sent me, the last line was in a font call Narkisim, which is not in the list of fonts. When I changed that to Times New Roman, the nekudot no longer worked, as they didn't for you. But when I changed it to New Peninim, the nekudot were restored. When I tried Raanana, ...
