Re: Old files are mojibake

Thanks for your reply. Yes the old file does have different fonts, colors etc. Unfortunately that old Mac has long gone.

Re: Old files are mojibake

I think you're right. These were from 2000-2002 and have black icon. There used to be a old app called Kanjitext which would do the job but it has long since ceased to function.

Adding furigana

Dear all I write in Japanese a lot.Japanese often puts the reading of a word above the chinese character (kanji) to tell you how to pronounce it. This is done in hiragana which is the phonetic script and is called furigana. (This is not the same as the Nisus superscript which is not above a word but...

Re: Name Index and Scripture Index

Hi Philip If I have a list of references like this John 3:11, 34, 8:28, 12:49, 14:10, 24, 17:8 John 8:51, 12:47 Matt. 12:19 The Index comes out like this (where the 1 is the page number) John  3 11... 1  8 51... 1 Matthew 12 19... 1 The first reference in the list is the only one indexed. The others...

Many thanks indeed! I got it to work. I need to edit it a bit to get the results I want. I'll probably need your help again!

Re: Name Index and Scripture Index

Hello Philip
Thanks for your response. I am still using your Japanese macros from way back! I couldn't get the macro to do anything. I edited it to reflect the abbreviations I use (e.g. Gen, Ex... Matt, Mark, John, Acts, Rom etc) but still no index produced. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Top to bottom Japanese writing

Can NWP do top to bottom Japanese writing? IOW can it start at the top right of the page and go down to the bottom left? I know it can do right to left but can't see how to do this. Thanks Rod

Many thanks for all this which is very helpful. I will no doubt have more questions when I start in earnest.
