Right. I should have been more specific from the start. For many years I was a Framemaker user, before it was orphaned by Adobe. I tried to use Word, but it made me so angry so many times that I began to search for an alternative. I found it in Mellel, which has been very good for the most part, but...

thinking of switching from Mellel
I've been using Mellel for several years, and been reasonably please -- especially when feature development seemed to be moving forward at a good speed. But Mellel seems to have become bogged down recently (although 2.5 is not in beta), and I've been impressed with the demo of NWP 1.1. I'm wondering...

first page special...
I'm trying NWE again, as an alternative to Mellel, and I'm trying to figure out how to have the header "Page X of Y" appear at the top of each page but the first. Right now I've got it on every page, including the first.

numbered lists? outlining?
I need a good word processor that includes numbered and bulleted lists, outlining, etc. So far as I can tell, Nisus does not yet support this. Is this true? If so, how soon will Nisus provide these capabilities?

bulleted and numbered lists?
I own NWE, Mellel, Word, and now Pages. But I've almost stopped visiting this site because, for me, NWE is unusable in its present form. I need bulleted and numbered lists frequently in my writing, and these are far too awkward to create in NWE. I watched the earlier development of NWE with hope. Ho...

outlining? numbered and bulleted lists?
I bought NWE some time ago, but I've not used it because I use my word processor (Mellel) to take lots of notes and make outlines of ideas. This requires an outlining module, or at least easy to use numbered and bulleted lists. I understand that one can make such list manually, but that's not the po...

numbered and bulleted lists
It's great to see NWE 2.0. Beautiful interface, and some wonderful tools. I'm sure there's been a discussion of this here before, but I'll ask again. Is there a simple way to create numbered and bulleted lists? In the long run, I assume that this will be a part of paragraph formats, as in Framemaker...

still a problem
Simple cutting and pasting doesn't seem to work. The macrons convert to umlauts. Garamond Latin is a truetype font, so that's not the problem either. If someone knows of an alternative Latin font I might try, I'd be willing to give it a go. This one doesn't seem to want to print bolded characters, a...

Yes...when?
I'm eager for answers to the same questions. I've been waiting for Nisus Writer Express for months, hoping to begin using it. But a "word processor" that doesn't yet support footnotes, numbered or bulleted lists is useless to me. I'll buy as soon as these are implemented, if they work well...

Latin language support?
I've been a Framemaker user for many years, but Frame may be dying. And I loathe MS Word, so I'm interested in Nisus Writer Express. But, in addition to more general academic writing, I'm studying Latin, which requires the use of macrons. For this purpose, I use a font called Garamond Latin, which i...
