Re: Macro to produce simple HTML
Thanks, Martin. That gives me a start on what I need. What I'm after, basically, is the ability to draft a web page in Nisus and then paste it into Wordpress or PageSpinner with the basic formatting (bold, italics, lists, links, etc.) intact. The macro of loulesko's I was asking about is the one he ...

Macro to produce simple HTML
I'm looking for a macro that will convert a Nisus document to simple HTML -- bold, italics, lists, etc., without the all the css formatting that "Export to HTML" produces. I've found references in the forum to a blog conversion macro by loulesko that looks like it might do the trick but do...

Warning -- Migration can strip away NW Classic formatting
I recently opened an old Nisus Writer Classic file in NWP and found that the formatting was gone. I first thought it might be a Lion problem, but investigated by going back through old backups looking for a version that would still work. I found that March backups from my previous computer still had...

Re: Exporting to HTML without stylesheet info
I'm just doing a straight copy from Nisus and paste into the visual mode if the Wordpress 3.1 editor. I think I remember looking at an add-in editor several year ago, but as far as I can tell now I'm using the standard wordpress editor. If you have your editor in html mode it won't transfer the form...

Re: Exporting to HTML without stylesheet info
One approach to this that I've explored involves taking the text through the Wordpress editor. That editor has two modes -- visual and html. If you copy formatted text from Nisus and paste it into the editor, things like italics, bold, and lists are maintained. You can then switch to html mode and c...

Re: App Store & NWP?
Thanks Martin; that's useful to know. I don't have any immediate need for the new features in the upgrade, so I guess I'll wait a bit and see if it shows up there.

Re: App Store & NWP?
My wife has been using an old version of Word because she was familiar with it, but with rosetta going away she's willing to explore alternatives. I'm thinking about the MAS both because of its simplicity and because the upgrade path from a single v1 license to v2 ($49) and then to a family license ...

Importing files from NW 6.5
I need to re-edit a 20 year old manuscript that was created in NW 6.5. I thought NWP was supposed to be able to import NW Classic files properly, but it doesn't seem to be able to handle embedded graphics. When I open the old file in NWP the text imports but the graphics don't. Some graphics are the...

Re: Using linkback with Intaglio
Activating linkback in the preferences was the solution. Thanks. I actually found that solution yesterday on the Intaglio forums and thought I had posted that here, but somehow my post didn't take. The real problem, I think, is that there's no mention of linkback at all in any of the Intaglio docume...

Using linkback with Intaglio
I want to embed graphics drawn in Intaglio in a Nisus document. Copying from Intagiio and pasting into NWP works fine, just as I'd expect. But the documentation tells me I should then be able to double-click the graphic in NWP and have it open for re-editing in Intaglio, and that just isn't happenin...

Convert curly quotes to straight quotes
This command doesn't work for me. It has no effect. I've turned off "Smart Punctuation" in the quickfix preference and it has no effect. I still get curly quotes when I type a quote.

True vs slanted italics
Nisus seems to indiscriminately mix up true italics (oblique font) and bold, and the old Mac OS slanted italics and thickened bold. Choosing italics or bold from the format menu creates old style slanted/thickened formatting that doesn't show up in the Font Panel. The Font Panel, though, can be used...

Menu key for macro not working in tiger
I use a macro with a menu key to datestamp additions to client files. Since updating to Tiger (10.4.1), the menu key no longer functions. It still shows up in the Menu Key preferences, and all other menu keys work fine, but it no longer works. Has anyone else see this, and is there a fix? Ralph Stra...
