Re: Slow opening files in background
I have a similar phenomenon. While I was using Tiger with Nisus 2, it has been the same, namely file conversion did not progress when NWP was in the back. NOw it is only on the first part of opening NWP- conversion will not start when I switch to another application before the progressing window app...

Re: cursor shape
Yes. these are the page guides (on left and right) and the are gone when using this command. There is nothing that was deliberately fixed on these files. The difference is not in the ability to change, but in the way the cursor changes its icon. once several files are open, side by side, if the mous...

cursor shape
I have several NWP files opened simultaneously on the screen. This computer still has 1.4 version. I see a strange behavior which I would like to figure out: In some of the files, when the mouse crosses the border line of the document, the cursor changes automatically to "border change" sh...

Re: export image to MS word
Thanks again, Martin. Actually, I think I did try png and it did not work. but never mind, as long as there is a readily accessible format my problem is solved. There is still a problem with converting files with graphics from PC word to Nisus, graphics changes its shape and position. I will find a ...

Re: export image to MS word
As a follow-up for those who are interested. If it is needed to convert a file with images, to PC word- images should better be in jpeg format. I guess it is partly due to Word's inability to handle several formats of graphics. However, it would be a good idea to include somewhere in the nisus manua...

export image to MS word
This problem has been bugging me for a long time, but now it became acute. I would be happy to hear whether anyone has a working solution: I have a nisus file, written in hebrew, if it matters. The file contains several images, of various types: jpg, tiff, pdf, etc. All my efforts to read this file ...

a good solution would be pdf file. but that limits you supervisor's option to write remarks and corrections with the "track changes" utility.

Re: Microsoft Word 2010 compatibility
I must say that you are a brave person.. PhD thesis are much too important to mess with software issues.. To the point, I have bad experience with converting nisus documents with images (photos, graphs etc) to and from MS word. Indeed my experience does not include word 2010, but earlier versions. T...

Re: why can't I reduce width of nisus window
the only reason I can think of for not being able to resize your window (on corners or sides of a document) is, that you are in a "full screen" view. If that is the case, resizing the document window is indeed disabled.

Re: Still cannot open .doc files properly
I do not understand the advice you received, and the reasoning behind it... the first advice I would give you is to send a sample file to nisus support..
alternatively, could you load a file here? also, could you describe what system/NWP you are using?

Re: Smart Quotes--Nisus to Word for PC
It looks like a Word question to me, but have you tried to use smart quotes on a new document in Word? on an old Word document? does it work but only doesn't when the source is NWP?
