Charles, Font selection: Yes Character Pallette is what I mean. The button for the size can be changed, but the font and style drop menus are non-functional. Preferences: System is set to Australian English. NWX preferences; ditto NWX New File set and saved via the Advanced tab in the New file prefe...

Seconded, NWX2 will not take format preferences at all as far as I can see. They register in the preferences, but nothing is reflected in documents, before or after restarting the programme. American 12pt Times only }:-( In addition, the Font menu in the tool bar is non-functional: the list flashes b...

Well that depends. Summer here doesn't START till November. ;-)
So just you keep on testing. I, for one, would infinitely prefer to wait an extra month and have a "perfect" release! (and I have such modest expectations) :-D

NWX2.0 on OS10.3 only?!!

In the latest NW Newsletter it says NWX2.0 is for OS10.3 only.
In the NW site preview it implies that it will work on 10.2, but certain features will only run on 10.3.

What's the story? Will we really have to buy a new operating system to run NWX?

We do want to add something like the endnote feature you support, including integration with a product of the same name. This will probably not make it into 2.0, unfortunately, though we wanted it to. Hi again Charles, The "product of the same name" seems like an outrageous amount of mone...

Endnote support

Greetings Mark,Charles,Dave, etc, With NWX2.0 due to arrive in "Spring". Uh huh? ;-) and having looked at the promised features, I was wondering if you can tell us exactly (?) what the functionality of the "Footnotes, Document endnotes, and, Smart Quotes" will be? If, for instance...

Hey, Mark or Charles,
There's now another post about font menu's being greyed out and inoperative, (one from Todd also).
I haven't found a reference to them in the archive, can you let us know the status of these problems?

cheers,
N.

NWX loses Word formatting and Font options. -bug?

I started with a Word doc written on wy work pc; added to it on my home Mac, saved it as an RTF and opened it in NWX.

Shift/returns had all been lost and turned into ordinary spaces.
Fonts had lost their Bold and Italic versions and were not available in the control panels.

Is it broke?

Cheers,
N.

When does not enough features turn into too many?

A friend once described Word as being able to "do just about anything, .....it's just that doing the simplest thing is just as complicated!" I think he got it in one:-D Now: NWX is currently being developed and doesn't (yet) have enough features for me to be able to use it for my work; but...

I recently tried exporting simple graphics into Windows from NWX, Mellel, AppleWorks and Windows itself (via RTF). The only standard format Windows seems able to display competently is TIFF I would agree with this, but as far as I can see it's not an NWX problem but Word one. I have in the past bee...

The Library folder you need to use is in your home folder.
It just occured to me Charles, if the macros are in *one* user's folder, what happens with multiple users? Multiple macro folders?

(Doesn't apply in my case, but.... curiosity)

Do you see the difference?
Ah hah!
I probably didn't read the install instructions well enough.
Anyway, just using the menu in Nisus Writer is much easier, for sure!
Indeed!

thanks for the help Charles, and keep up the good work,
Cheers,
