Re: How to transfer ALL NWP preferences and settings to new

Thanks, adryan. Yes, Martin's instructions are explicit, and I followed them precisely. Yet since they're not working properly, I'm wondering if they are obsolete? Has NWP latest version changed since they were written several years ago? I'm now beginning to conclude they are no longer current - and...

Re: How to transfer ALL NWP preferences and settings to new

Although NWP 2.1.8b is reading my Nisus Writer Pro folder, it's ignoring my custom Nisus New File.dot and giving me a blank page (which is still called Untitled.) This suggests reading my Nisus New File.dot, which worked fine before on my old machine, is no longer working. HELP! Exactly where does N...

Re: How to transfer ALL NWP preferences and settings to new

I've tried several more variations on the posted instructions but it's still not working. I have a plist on the desktop (actually two variations on the name), a copy of the plist in Snow Leopard. And with NWP quit, I have tried to get Terminal to accept the listed command and several variations: def...

Re: How to transfer ALL NWP preferences and settings to new

I’ve since upgraded to latest NWP 2.1.8b in Yosemite in the new machine. But these instructions don’t seem to be working. I eventually got a file on my desktop when I used the name /com.nisus.NisusWriter.plist by adding com.nisus into the name. So I used this to import in Terminal in the new i5 as f...

How to transfer ALL NWP preferences and settings to new Mac?

I now have a new i5 MacMini running Yosemite, MacOS 10.10.5, and need to transfer NWP. How do I transfer all preferences, settings, macros, EVERYTHING to my new machine? I can’t use Migration Assistant because I want to get rid of all the junk unwanted programs I had before. There was a post on how ...

How to authorize NWP to access all my files - permanently?

I'm now looking at moving from Snow Leopard to Yosemite. but it's a real pain. Latest update NWPro 2.1.7 says that because it's sandboxed, it requires separate permission to open a file that I've stored a link to in one of my documents. My files are on a separate disk partition and have been for inc...

Re: When is 2.05 coming out?

By the way, I hope they won’t decide to drop Snow Leopard. That would be a deal breaker as far as I’m concerned. Cheers, Henry. And me. I/m not going anywhere in up (or down) grades! :) Cheers, geoff I'm also still on Snow Leopard, and I don't want to lose the 20 years of history in one (now obsole...

Re: all my images are gone

Thanks for your suggestion, but why 2.0.7? Because the higher last number, but still v2.0, tells you it's a bug fix version not a new release. So there will be very little in the way of new facilities, but lots of bugs fixed since your obsolete 2.0.2. NWP 2.0.2 has been replaced. To investigate Nis...

Re: Find/Replace text yet keep the same numbers?

Thanks, Philip, but I must be blind. Where's the Find_CrisB tiff attachment to view and/or download from your post? Can you download it from your post? If so, it must be a problem to do with Firefox 25.0.1 and Snow Leopard...

Re: all my images are gone

Maybe install NWP 2.0.7, retrieve a backup from Time Machine which you know still had all the images, and see if they're still there in 2.0.7. If this was earlier today, do this immediately since Time Machine deletes the hourly copies... If it's still open, then save any changes to your existing fil...

Find/Replace text yet keep the same numbers?

Hi, I sometimes need to Find a string such as "textabc-123-textdef" and Replace it with "textpqr-123-textst". So I want to replace the initial text string "textabc" with "textpqr" keep the identical number "123" and then also replace the second text string "textdef" with "textst". Can I keep the num...

Re: 2.0.7 is last intended release for 10.6 (Snow Leopard)

I am still using SL, too. sad about losing updates.... :( I'm also still on Snow Leopard, I have 20 years history in one application and so the loss of Rosetta was an enormous hurdle... Martin, can I persuade Nisus to at least fix some if not many of the long outstanding issues with images. They do...
