Re: Batch modify rtf properties

It should be possible to accomplish your task directly in Nisus Writer using a macro. Here's an example macro that's quite straightforward. It will ask you to choose one or more files (in a standard file dialog) and then set the author and keywords to some fixed pre-determined values. $filePaths = C...

Re: How to move Style library, glossaries, macro file direct

Thankyou, but when I define in Doc Manager that the subdirectory "Nisus" should be used, and have files moved, it moves EVERYTHING there which had been on the top directory level before! I want wo move only the specific Nisus directories and keep the rest where it had been. You'll have to tease thi...

Re: Remove styles

Those menus should work correctly. But to be clear, they only remove proper styles defined in the stylesheet like "Emphatic" or "Heading 1". Those commands do not remove manually applied formatting (eg: formatting applied via menus like Format > Font ). Please let me know if you think the commands a...

Re: styles

Hello Yohanan, I'm sorry you're having trouble with fonts and styles. It sounds like you're having a general sort of problem, which we might solve by increasing your understanding, though it's always possible there's some technical problem at work too. First, it's important to make clear that the us...

Re: 2.1.8 in-app update

Hello jb! I'm sorry for the trouble you encountered in trying to update to version 2.1.8. I'm glad you got it working. The problem was actually due to a defect in version 2.1.5, where the automatic updater could fail to install newer versions. A lot of users had trouble when we first released versio...

Re: Footnote style disappears each time I load a document

This sounds really strange Bryand, because footnotes intrinsically have the Footnotes style applied in Nisus Writer. Even if you open a non-Nisus file with footnotes lacking note styles, Nisus Writer would automatically create and apply a "Footnote" note styles. There might be a bug here or perhaps ...

Re: Drag and drop gone

The click delay to discern between changing the selection and starting drag is something that's controlled by the Mac system, so I'm afraid if it's not working very smoothly we don't have any great advice to offer. I'm glad some system cleaning removed the unwanted delays.

Re: Line numbers and tables.

Do you need line numbers for the blank lines, too, as in California? It sounds like it, for which we provide pleading page templates . However from what Vanceone described, those templates are undesirable because the pleading numbers don't always line up exactly with the lines of text. That's becau...

Re: Nisus Default Template

Thanks for your reply Adrian: Except that this does not seem to be quite the case in NWP at present. Offset occurs for the second window only. Third and subsequent windows are stacked on top of the second window, not iteratively offset. Hrm, that's odd, and not what I experience. I just tested and s...

Re: How to open a linked file in it‘s own Application ?

I'm glad js has solved the problem, but one final tip. It is generally not good to construct links to files manually like this: $linkCommmand = "alias://$path" If you really want to capture an alias to the target file you should use the proper Link object command: Link.newWithAliasToFileAtPath $path...

Re: How to open a linked file in it‘s own Application ?

You could try this: $link = Link.newWithAliasToFileAtPath '~file path.mmap' $link.activate @undefined There is something in the Macro Reference about the @undefined business being "not recommended", but I'm not sure I understand what the problem is. But frankly I'm not even sure I understand why th...

Re: Nisus Default Template

If I understand your question correctly, this is the intended behavior. If you create multiple new document windows, each window should be slightly offset from the prior window, so you can see that there are multiple files. If each window occupied exactly the same coordinates on screen, the user cou...
