Re: Table of contents

How are you formatting your subparagraphs? That is, are you using named paragraph styles like "Heading 2" for these subparagraphs? If so, you will need to adjust your style sheet. You will want to ensure that those paragraph styles are enforcing "Include in TOC" formatting. Here's one way to do that...

Re: Big Sur 11.3, Spotlight and RTF files

Thank you for the update Brad! It's nice to know that Apple finally fixed this regression in Spotlight indexing. And thanks for the tip on how to force Spotlight to reindex documents and files. It looks like Apple goes over the same steps in this support page on how to rebuild your Spotlight search ...

Re: Does Nisus provide keyboards?

We do not provide any custom keyboards. Nisus Writer supports all keyboards that are available system-wide on macOS. That includes all the default keyboards provided by Apple (eg: Hebrew - QWERTY) and also custom keyboard layouts. You can create your own keyboards using tools like Ukelele or search ...

Re: Creating a List of all Capitalsied words

I would have used PowerFind for the screen-shot, but it seems that PowerFind won't let you insert a repeat bubble with (3 or more). It creates the bubble, but it just beeps and won't insert it in the Find dialog. :( This looks like a bug, if you leave the upper bound blank. If you enter a real numb...

Re: Creating a List of all Capitalsied words

Here's a macro that should do what you like: # This macro finds all words that are in all caps in the frontmost document $minLength = 2 If ! Find All @string<\p{Upper}{$minLength,}>, 'E-i' Prompt "No matches found.", "Did not find any words in all caps with at least $minLength characters." Exit End ...

Re: Unable to Update Nisus Thesaurus v1.2 to v1.2.2

Unless you have a new Mac with Apple Silicon there's no real difference between Nisus Thesaurus version 1.2 and 1.2.2. However, if you really want the latest version you can download it manually here:

Re: Style definition with macro

About "macros behind text": In the Classic version I remember vaguely being able to right-click (?) on a word and a small window would then be opened where I could place the macro. It was possible to tell the macro to run only if I pressed the Shift key (option key, command key, and perhaps other m...

Re: Style definition with macro

Nisus Writer 6.5 had this feature. We could run a macro when a certain document was opened, but the best thing was being able to hide a long macro behind a single word or a text string. I absolutely loved that feature. Count my vote for macros behind text. :–) Thanks for the vote Þorvarður! But I h...

Re: Style definition with macro

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll add your vote for this feature, which is more generally expressed as the desire to automatically run macros after certain special events, eg: open a document, invoke a menu, etc. I'll make a note that applying a style could also be a useful macro trigger. In the meant...

Re: Can't sync documents in iCloud

Usually, I am not using the iCloud for any documents. But Yesterday I opened empty files to store some text, and received an error message, when I wanted to close NW suggesting that I cannot save any files to iCloud, when the software was not bought through the App store. Apple does allow apps like...

Re: Help, after clean install of Bug Sir [sic]

Bit of a blow out, yesterday, apologies. I'd had my second Moderna vaccination on the 7th and was a bit ruff around the edges. No apologies necessary! I'm sorry for the frustrating experience. I'm glad to hear things are settled down and sorted out for you now. Congratulations on getting your vacci...

Re: Help, after clean install of Bug Sir [sic]

Not smiling. Totally Effed. What do you mean exactly? Your strong language implies that maybe you lost access to multiple documents. If so, then my question would be: do your files exist at all? That is, can you see them in the Finder and iCloud? If you don't see the files elsewhere then you likely...

Re: Help, after clean install of Bug Sir [sic]

Let's have you try restoring a few potential points of access in your Nisus Writer preferences: 1. In the Doc Manager pane, choose the desired location for your Document Manager. 2. In the Saving pane, choose a location for "autosaving new documents". 3. In the General pane, choose a location for "s...

Re: Removing Periods after Footnote Numerals

Because in the footnote style sheet, there is an option under "note References" where you can control the period; it appears in the "after text" box. Delete that period and it should delete it. But if my memory serves, this may depend on the version of Nisus you are running. Older versions inserted...
