Re: Advice on conversion to Word?

Howdy and welcome to the board.

Perhaps you can try to use the other method: Save As... MS Word format (from the drop down).

Re: large document limitations?

Howdy and welcome. I use both Nisus and Mellel and have never had any problem.

With Nisus I have opened and edited documents up to 280 pages without any crashing. How as it saved?

Re: Goodbye Nisus

Sorry to see you go. I have been using NWE/NWP since they were first released, so perhaps 5-6 years. As you note, NWP just feels right for a word processor. But unlike your experience, NWP has never crashed on me (that I can remember). Also, as a user of Mellel, I am glad I persevered in learning it...

Re: NWP and FontCard now working together ... almost

I see what you are saying. I have not ever used haxies (in OS X), having read about some problems. But this one might prove useful.

Just out of curiosity, in your last screen shot, on the dock what are the second and third applications below NeoOffice?

Re: Double spacing in NWP

I think that is because typographically, line spacing is always determined from the bottom of the letters that form the line. Thus line spacing above would make sense.

But that is just my conjecture. Perhaps our vertical-ruler-requester from Australia can enlighten us. ;) :D

Naw, this is okay for you. And with other links, the program is still getting attention and downloaded.

Good job! Thanks for all the work :)

The thinking is that when you apply that style you want it to apply to the entire paragraph and an...

Re: Styles got a will of their own

Howdy. Maybe the dependency needs to be in the opposite direction, since Italic is a dependent style on Roman, not the other way around.

Just a guess from an old codger, and probably wrong.

Geoff, perhaps this will solve your thirst for a"vertical" rulers? Rulers for all apps (Mac and Windows versions). :)

Re: NWP Like App for Windows?

I'm looking for something like NWP or NWE for Windows (e.g. quick, lean, and elegant). I don't need a behemoth like Office, OpenOffice, and don't like WordPerfect much. Hard to find a simple word processor that does things right. You may want to consider Papyrus, then. There was no manual, and when...
