Yes, you'll have to manually apply the formatting you desire after you insert the cross-reference. Ah, I thought so since there was no style for cross-references and I could find no way to create a style for them. New feature for version 1.1? Allowing us to define a custom style for cross reference...

Formatting cross-reference text

Is there any way to make cross referenced text appear as italics automatically? For example I have Figure 1 bookmarked, and I would like the reference "see Figure 1 " with Figure 1 being italics. I can manually do that, but I wondered if there was a way of making it so that cross reference...

Nope, don't really need them.

I think a word processor should really be just that. A word processor. The ability to make a horizontal rule could be handy, but I'm certainly against full fledge drawing, a la Word. For that, there are better programs to use out there, like Omnigraffle.

Caption for images/tables

Is there any way to insert captions for images/tables that will include the number of the figure, etc ?

No, writing them manually isn't feasible, as the order of figures can change when I'm writing the document. The figure numbers need to be automatically updated.

I think notification of acceptance/rejection comes in about 9 months. I would use Nisus for my journal papers, if it provi...

I should pipe up and say that NWE helped me get the weirdest rejection letter from an academic journal I've ever gotten.
I would be interested to know what that weird rejection letter said? Perhaps the document produced with NWE didn't meet their guidelines?

Enabling Smart Punctuation and Smart Ordinals

I'm trying to get smart punctuation and automatic superscripting of ordinals in the British English, and it's not happening. Those options are grayed out.

How do I get them enabled? Do they work with US English only?
