Actually if the styles/attributes applied to your text do not specify a language then the system language is used, not the language set in your New Document preferences (Nisus New File). We thought this would be a helpful setting, but perhaps it just confuses the matter. What do you think? I don't ...

So you would have four buttons that were just buttons and a fifth one that was a pop up menu? Maybe I am just missing something but I am having trouble seeing this as an improvement over the old system with just one pop up menu. Because it's faster to click a button than to choose an item from a me...

Hi: Nisus Writer Express actually supports an even more powerful solution for writing in multiple languages. Try this: ... When you are writing new documents, apply the languages as you go. Nisus Writer Express will automatically switch spelling dictionaries as well as a number of other things such...

Multilingual spelling?
I sometimes write documents that include several languages, and to get spelling to work I have to keep changing the language of the spell checker, which can get a bit cumbersome. Now, in other cocoa apps that use the system spell checker there is a great option to set the language to "Multiling...

Re: Quick Fix
I'm using Nisus 2.0.1, OS X 10.2.8 on an iMac. I turn off Quick Fix under Preferences, and the damn thing keeps fixing things. Any idea how I can get it to leave my immortal prose alone? -Speireag. Indeed, I have noticed this too. It brings on a scary deja vu from my struggle with making MS Word do...

Can I ask that such automatic bulleting and numbering is implemented carefully? One of the reasons I've started use Nisus rather than Word is because Word thinks it knows better than I do what I want to type, whether it is insisting on capitalising the first letter of words at the start of a senten...

Re: Major problems with 2.0
Here's the worst one -- and it's totally undermining my confidence in the software: every time I open my new (70-page) document, I get a different page count. When I (slowly) scroll through the document, I discover that it's randomly filled with mostly blank pages. Several pages have only one line ...

NWE 2 - First impressions...
First: congratulations! It is a major upgrade from 1.x and the overall feeling is just sweet. I think I may finally be able to dump word altogether. Now, some impressions after my first day of work: - It looks beautiful... not unimportant if I am supposed to stare at it the whole day... - I like the...

Doesn't this kind of suggest that it might be worth considering to change the default shortcut?rmark wrote:Believe it or not, this is the most *F*requently *A*sked *Q*uestion about the Nisus Thesaurus.
