How to optimize speed?
NWE does not render text as fast as I can type, and it takes my attention. It does not help to use Draft view.
Anyway of optimizing it? Fonts, settings, anything?
I would love it if I could get it to render as fast as a text engine like TexEdit Plus, fx.

Default font does not work (2.0)
I've set default font for new documents to Verdana, but every new doc starts with Times.
(By the way guys, well done for having an iMac G5 in the graphics on the site already. )

eolake: To drag text in Cocoa apps, including Safari and NWE, you usually need to select the text, then click and hold on the selection for about a half second or more before you try the drag. My god, you got it! That was it! I can't believe it. Why don't Apple tell people something like this. I am...

This is a real longshot, eo, but I thought I'd ask anyway: do you, by any chance, have a wheel mouse that comes with its own software? If so, is it possible you have the behavior of the left button set on an app by app basis. Good idea. I do have that. But even though I have tried with an apple mou...

Hmmm, odd
(Good thing I asked.) Very odd, it sounds like it should work just like it does in almost every other Mac app I have used for ten years. Only it doesn't. I can't grab the text. It is exactly like in Safari, if you try to grab a selected section, you just end up make a new, different selection instea...

Bulleted lists?
OK, another one: Bulleted and numbered lists?
Maybe in 2.0?
(OK, I made a Search and found in this forum about how to use indent.)

No drag/drop?
I am a bit surprised to find that NWE apparently does not support drag/drop editing. Can this be true, or am I doing something wrong?

Auto-updating Date?
I have changed my letterhead from AppleWorks to Nisus, because AW's text display *sucks*, the bad spacing makes it barely readable.
But I don't find any way to make an auto-updating Date field in NWE. Is there one?
If not, will it be in 2.0?

Re: Foreground (text) and Background (Page/Draft View) Color
These background/foreground displays predate the Macintosh's commitment to WYSIWYG word processing. Admittedly, Draft View is just that, a non-WYSIWYG view of your document. However, it is so only in the layout of the text, not its font/size/style (which includes color). When footnotes are implemen...

regarding: In the General Preference panel click the color box beside Draft Background Color and choose the color you want. Yes, I have seen this, but what about the text color? Like I said, if I want to write white on blue or something. (Not important I guess, but some people find it more soothing...
