Non-styled Glossary Entry

Hi, thank you for your suggestion. In the times of NW Express I tried both TextExpander and Typinator. Both did not meet exactly what I expected. So I continued to use Nisus Writer Classic for the documents I produced at work... in the hope that NW Pro would provide glossaries. QuickFix is OK if the...

Hi Martin, this is not the easiest way to deal with the problem, a problem I have too, as I use glossaries very frequently. Fortunately, the formatting options of the documents where I most need glossaries, are very simple. So I may format the glossaries with the same font and paragraph styles I use...

Hi Martin, the odd glossary expansion I noticed with version NW Pro v. 1.0 does still occur within version 1.01 recently released: typing the trigger after a nonexistent abbreviation, causes to expand any abbreviation corresponding to the first letter at the left of the cursor. I expected this to be...

I am afraid you may not. But you can create a glossary entry: in a NW Pro document, do the table formatting you want, select and copy it. Open the Preference --> QuickFix dialog where you may create a new Glossary. Paste the formatted table into it and assign an expanding key. Regards, G. Beurlen Ri...

Dear Martin, thank you for your reply. But I am afraid I may not, because of two reasons: 1. the original document is a confidential work document; and 2. the Send Feedback mechanism does not work due to the configuration of the firewall at work. But... I can send you a virtual identical document, s...

NWPro: Slow Performance with large documents?

NWPro: Slow Performance with large documents? I have just finished a 400 page document in NisusWriter Classic (when I began writing it, NW Pro was not yet available). Now, with NW Pro and it's Glossaries features, I converted it to NW Pro rtf format, using Kino's Apple script. The formatting is simp...

Hi circa58, greeenmorpher & Hamid, I miss the graphic layer of Nisus Classic too; as cyrca said, it was one the most useful features. And I agree with greenmorpher too: the control of graphics in NW Pro is more than poor and almost useless - unfortunately. Simple drawings made with Canvas can be...

Expanding Glossary abbreviations

Hi, I do not use the EXPAND GLOSSARIES ENTRIES AS YOU TYPE feature. Instead, I use a a custom key -- command/ (like in NW classic) -- to expand glossary entries. Well, if this command is typed after a non-existing abbreviation, the cursor jumps to any previous typed word which in part or at whole co...

Hi Hamid, thanks for your reply. Indeed, your suggestion works, but only for the same session. If the program is quitted and launched again, the same procedure has to bee repeated. That is not too bad, but it may be possible to inadvertently delete a wrong glossary. Anyway, I am a little bit happier...

Hi Martin, to answer your question: I use the English localization of NWPro, and Mac OS US English localization. I also installed a demo version on a clean user on my computer, with the same result: only the first 5 glossary files can be selected directly, the vertical scroll bar is still not active...

Glossary File Window: Vertical Scrollbar

Dear Sir, in the Glossary Files panel (Preferences-->QuickFix) only 5 gloassaries can be displayed. If there are more, as in my case, they can only be selected using the down arrow, as the vertical scroll bar is not active. Reported some days ago to the BETA forum, this problem still persists in NW ...

Problems with Preferences

Sorry, I posted this to the wrong thread:

Accesseing Preferences other than <General> in NWExpress alpha, causes an error: the Type Setting window opens and the only way to get rid of it is to force a quit of the program.
