Re: Default Zoom % List

Another option, if you don't want to deal with a menu, is to have the macro check the view and set the size appropriately. Something like this: $pageView = Menu.menuAtPath("Page View").state $draftView = Menu.menuAtPath("Draft View").state $fullScreen = Menu.menuAtPath("Full Screen").state if $pageV...

Re: Insert paragraph numbers at the beginning of paragraphs

Hello Nobumi, The problem must be that you have some actual text in the footnote (e.g. the page number). Your first attempt to fix it is the right one. You should use the "where" attribute to limit the search. In your case you used "m" to indicate "main body", but you also need to specify "-h" for "...

Re: Insert paragraph numbers at the beginning of paragraphs

Hi Nobumi, That macro was intended to number paragraphs that had actual caret symbols (^) as the beginning character. If you remove the '\^'. It will find all paragraph beginnings, but there is a hitch, for which the macro is not written safely. The $text.findAll command is going to find all paragra...

Re: TOC in alphabetical order

That's a clever approach, Þorvarður! I was going to write a complicated macro, but the Index should work fine. I would just make a few suggestions. First, NW allows you to create as many index styles as you want, so you can make an index style for just this purpose. You can then also configure the s...

Re: Default Zoom % List

Create a macro ("New Macro") and put the following single line:

Code: Select all

Set Zoom 175
Then save as macro. You can then attach a keyboard shortcut to your macro. The command will however not appear in the Zoom submenu. It will be in the macro menu.
Hope this helps

Re: Save to / Save as to a particular file format

Hello Þorvarður, I agree with you that the task at hand could easily be achieved with a Nisus macro as well. Let me just make a few suggestions. First to process several documents in this fashion, a better interface than trying to read filenames/paths out of a document would be to let the user choos...

Re: Hiding/remove headers and footers

Hi vw. You mean the "Hidden Headers" and "Hidden Footers" boxes in the "Header/Footer palette". Nah. Currently Nisus doesn't have any macro access to any of the features in the "Section" palette dock (margins, sections, column settings, etc.), in particular also because none of these things have men...

Re: Save to / Save as to a particular file format

Is the file data that you are hoping to save already in the right format? Or were you expecting Nisus to convert it on the way out? Nisus macro language has commands "File.writeStringToPath" and "File.writeDataToPath" which should allow you to save data that is not '.rtf' But you will be responsible...

Re: how move items up / down a list?

Moving table rows is a much easier problem. This macro will work for multiple selected rows too.

Re: how move items up / down a list?

I improved the logic of the macro. So now I'm able to provide both a "Move Up" and a "Move Down". As before the macros only apply to one list item (along with all its child items) at a time. I considered the possibility of moving multiple items at once. But the problem is that there is too much pote...

Re: find and replace with superscript

Yes, you can. Open the Find dialog Switch to Powerfind In the Find box, from the "Wildcard" menu choose "Any Text" (or any other suitable "Any" wildcard) Select the wildcard and apply the styles you want to search for In the Replace box, from the "Capture" menu choose "Found" Select and apply the st...

Forum issue: Macro attachments?

Is this an issue introduced by the change to the new forum style? It wouldn't let me attach a Nisus macro. It said it had the wrong kind of extension (presumably '.nwm')

Also what's up with all the broken smilies?

Re: how move items up / down a list?

The following macro will move a list item down one. It will keep the item selected, so you can use it repeatedly to move down two or three. It can't handle multiple items.

Re: Replacing found wildcards with the same as the original

You need to use "Match" parentheses, also known as "Capture()". You enclose all the bits you want to keep in such parentheses. You can do this by selecting the part of the find expression you want to keep, and choose "Match > Capture()". This will enclose that bit with parentheses. Repeat this for e...

Re: How to select all note reference and make change to them?

But as to the change of the styles, that did not work. One thing is that I find is that it seems there is no way to force apply a style defined in the style view to the actual texts in the document. But I am not sure if such a feature is implemented, that would be useful. Useful perhaps only for no...
