Re: Unselectable paragraph marker in the middle of text

And another method is to place your selection at any place with the British English language attribute and then to choose "Select All in Language". This will select all those bits including the ones in the Footnotes.

Re: How to find instances of superscripts?

I believe the whole problem is that those Footnote markers are strange beasts, and not seen as digits at all. There may also be issues with the formatting of the space between the markers. Here is a macro that will check all footnote markers, and if they are one character apart will replace any spac...

Re: Favorites in the file save dialog

Finder Favorites are the locations in your Finder window side bar. You should just be able to drag them out of the side bar. When they show an (x) you can let them go and they disappear. But reading your explanation, you seem to suggest that the Finder window has a list of Favorites that differ from...

Re: What's this blue badge that keeps appearing in my text?

It's the indicator that shows you which keyboard is currently active. Don't know if it can be turned off.
It doesn't "do" anything.

Re: need help with find and replace, please

Would it be difficult to rework the macro so that it asked you what paragraph style to input ? Not at all. (I'm pretty sure I've written such a macro before, and perhaps shared it somewhere in this forum. But by now I have so many macros that it's usually quicker to write a new one, rather than loo...

Re: need help with find and replace, please

Hello Seth, Adrian, This is where it's really better to use a macro. The macro language has nice constructs that make this task reasonably easy. Here is the code: #Select First Paragraph Following Heading 4 $doc = Document.active $sels = $doc.text.findAll $doc.styleWithName("Heading 4") $f...

Re: Macro to combine multiple files into one

If it gives you this error, I must assume that the files are named in a way different from what I took to be your description. The macro here assumes that your files have names like this: 01.01myfile.rtf 01.02myfile.rtf 02.01myotherfile.rtf … and so on. Maybe you should give a more concrete example ...

Re: Macro to combine multiple files into one

A quick way?
Here is a macro that should work according to your specs, as far as I can make them out.
The pdfs will be saved in the same folder with the name with the prefix removed.

Re: List Style w/ line break as part of "After Text"?

To start with the last example; since your paragraph number is centered, and the following text left aligned you are just going to have to use two paragraphs. Feel free to call this "clumsy", if you like. It seems pretty normal to me. Make sure to attach the relevant following style to the...

Re: Document assembly

This isn't really an issue for mail merge. Generally you would have a form letter and in the context of the sentence you had written you would know if you wanted the genitive (a choice between his/her or his/hers) or you wanted the accusative/dative (a choice between him/her). So no grammar checking...

Re: Document assembly

I'm pretty sure you could handle the cases you mention ("his/her", optional paragraph) using mail merge. But that doesn’t mean I would recommend it. You could also do any of the following: Create your own "mail merge". Create the default document with the replaceable fields marke...

Feature request: copy-paste (drag & drop) of short formatted text

I wonder if this might be possible. When copying and pasting attributed text, NWP does a good job of copying the formatting. If the text copied includes a whole paragraph it also copies the paragraph formatting, which is fine. But one place that I always have trouble is when the piece is just a shor...

Re: FR: Have font search string look for matches in entire font name, not merely from the beginning

I kept looking at this little search box and wondering "Where is this feature in NWP?". But now I realize you created this as a mock-up? The current implementation requires one to type directly in the font list. And you have to type 'swiftly' or it will keep jumping to the next letter. (&q...
