Re: Why is NWP so painfully slow?

I'm very happy that Scrivener is so helpful to Mark and Timotheus, but I have tried it for my own work and found it unsatisfactory. My answer will have to come from NWP. I have confidence that in time they will find a solution.

Re: Why is NWP so painfully slow?

Martin knows that I have had this problem for the past year. I too am writing a very long (book-length) document with lots of footnotes and internal cross-references. I frequently need to add new ones or edit existing ones; so working in Draft Mode is not an option for me. Because of the internal cr...

Needed: a "Go Back" button

My work involves intensive editing of long, book-length, technical documents with lots of cross-references and multiple note streams. I need to be able to go from one location to another, make a change and return to where I just was. If there is this capability in Mellel at present, would someone pl...

Re: multiple streams of footnotes

All of these workarounds are simply not robust enough for my needs. I second the original post's request for a real capacity for multiple streams like Mellel's. And I don't fancy using a Windows program under emulation either.

Re: Please speed up Nisus Pro

Yes, please do. I am writing a book, and my file has lots of footnotes and cross-references. Start-ups and refreshing takes far too long.

adjustable text size in TOC pane

I wonder if a feature could be added to NWP to allow users to adjust the size of (i.e., zoom) the text in the TOC pane that alternates with the Bookmarks list on the left and serves as a Navigator? Word allows this, and I find that long TOC entries require me to open the pane too wide, encroaching o...

Re: Double click selecting super- or sub- script as part of word

Martin, I'm relieved that you suspect a bug here, because I use a superscripted letter for notes and would not want to miss examples of a word searched for using "find whole words only" if there was an alphabetic character appended as a note, because the app considered that letter a part of the word.

Re: TIP: Using temporary bookmarks

I would like to see the ability with a menu selection or hot key to return to the previously viewed page or paragraph, not just to a previous selection or edit.

Problem using NWP macro for Bookends

I have licensed copies of Bookends, Sente and EndNote. Since NWP has no macro to run EndNote, I am trying to use my Bookends with NWP for a project I'm working on. But I can't get the NWP macros for Bookends to respond when I click on them in the Macros window. What should I do to troubleshoot this?...

Problems with the palette after installing Snow Leopard

Am I the only person having problems with NWP 1.3 after installing Snow Leopard? Now I sometimes cannot get the tools side panel (palette??) to respond to a mouse click on one of its selections until I either close it and reopen it, or sometimes even save/quit NWP and reopen the document. This only ...

Sizing text in TOC pane

In the interest of conserving screen real estate, I would like to reduce the size of the font used in the Navigator pane to the left of the main text display. I can do this in MS Word, but I can't find a way to do this in NWP. If there is currently not a way to do this, it is a feature I would reque...

Access to EndNote from within NWP

Although I have licensed copies of Bookends and Sente, I still feel more comfortable with EndNote as a bibliography manager for my academic writing. Currently one can access Bookends from within NWP and insert references. But if one uses EndNote, the in-text markers have to be inserted into the NWP ...

Re: Feature request: split screen/window

Thank you very much for the macro and for the explanations. I discovered the limitation that was just mentioned. And it is for this reason that I personally hope NIsus implements a split screen/window. I like to be able to switch back and forth in the views and edit both. I can do this, of course, i...
