Hi Martin,
It worked like a charm! Yes, I searched for "Anything" in Lucida Grande, chose Find All, then inverted the selection.
Thanks very much!
Best,
Brooke

Select everything not in a given font
Hi all, I gather that it is no longer possible to "inverse selection" with a macro. In a large (250 page) doc, I would like to select everything that is not in Lucida Grande. (This will include text in two or three different fonts.) Is there a Find/Replace argument that will do this? I use...

Re: Printing and Comments
Thanks for your reply, Martin. I also found a thread on the topic in the NWP beta forum, through Googling. To get this job done, I found a Mac with MSWord on it, saved the files into *.doc format in that app, then brought them back to my machine and opened them in Pages. The comments were preserved,...

Re: Pages and RTF Footnotes...
I have the same problem, and am just posting more information. If you try saving the *.rtf file as a *.doc file using NWP, that does not solve the problem: still no footnotes in Pages. That is, apparently it has to be saved as *.doc format in MSWord itself. In a separate thread, I am trying to find ...

Printing and Comments
Am I right that I cannot print a document with its Comments, to PDF or to printer? Also, when I open my Nisus docs with Comments in Pages, the Comments don't come over. This seems to be true whether the files are .rtf or .doc. Anything I might be missing here? I've got a handful of papers I've grade...

Re: Desired NWP1.2 Features
Track Changes, compatible with MSWord and with Pages.
Hands down, no question. I would do handsprings if the next version of NWP offered this and nothing else.

Re: Directionality Markers show in print
Thanks, ProfT and Martin. Yes, it was TNR that was drawing the markers. My habit is to enter Hebrew in Lucida Grande and to use TNR or Palatino for the surrounding text, so it was an easy matter to simply select all the directionality markers and change them to Lucida Grande. (I do wish I knew a sin...

Directionality Markers show in print
When writing English paragraphs with Hebrew words and phrases in them, I use the directionality markers after the Hebrew in order to return to left-to-right typing. The Directionality Markers show up on screen even when Invisibles are turned off. More importantly, they show up in print, whether as P...

Hi Sam, I have noticed this also, but was in such a rush on those documents that I just deleted the offending asterisks and met my deadline. Yes, most or all of them were in footnotes. As I recall, they were usually inside of a word, perhaps after the first letter of the word. My own documents have ...

Find bug? (ReturnReturn)
When I search for two returns in a row (choosing the special character "Return" twice in the Find field then hitting the button "Next"), I get the endless beachball and have to force quit. This happens when I do it in a new file or an existing file, and it doesn't matter whether ...

Find footnote numerals
Is there any way to "Find" footnote numerals? They are not "digits," or "characters," or "text," or anything. How can footnote numerals be made the target of a Find? Thanks. Edit: It will be fine if footnote numerals are even _included_ in the results of a Fin...

Keep on Same Line
"Keep on Same Line." This was a formatting style in NW Classic, and I have always depended on it. Kerning and so forth do not substitute for it: the idea is that the selected text stay on the same line no matter what I do to the surrounding text or paragraph. I can't be the only user who r...

classic Keep on Same Line feature
In NWP, I badly miss the old Classic formatting style "Keep on Same Line."
For you macro wizards out there, is it possible to imagine a macro solution/workaround for this missing feature?
Thanks,
Brooke
