Thank you, Martin!
I had never clicked on "Style Sheet" in the View menu before. So that's where I had to look!
I think I've been able to save my preferred Comment format settings in the Nisus New File.dot file, so it should be clear sailing from here on out!

Changing the default formatting of Comments
My dilemma is that the default formatting of comments in a new document is "fill justified" when I want it to be left justified, and I have to change every single comment's formatting every time. I searched the forums and found something about setting the default, but couldn't figure out h...

Re: A quicker way to delete Untitled files?
Thank you Adrian and Martin!
Now I get it...with Apple's switch to Cmd-delete from Cmd-D.
And it's a great tip to delete all content then close the window. I can create a Keyboard Maestro macro to do that for quick closing of unneeded files!

A quicker way to delete Untitled files?
When I generate an Untitled file that I don't want to save, after clicking on the red dot, I have to wait for the dialog box to appear and expand, then carefully position my mouse over the Delete button and click. That takes extra seconds of my life, and I do this with a LOT of Untitled files. Is th...

Re: Since Sierra Shift-Return not aligning
I can confirm that this is a cosmetic problem, and that if I open the Nisus file in Word, the shift-returns appear properly.
But this appearance problem makes all the difference.
As a user, is there anything can I do? Besides downgrading to El Capitan.

Since Sierra Shift-Return not aligning
Since a recent upgrade to Sierra, I have noticed to my dismay that Shift-Return does not automatically align the next line with the indented paragraph setting. (I'm not quite describing that correctly.) Say I have a numbered list (not using the Number List function). 1/ Second line is set up to... A...

Re: How to display Character Count without multiple clicks
Many thanks! The table output works nicely with the two added lines. I realize that what I meant was to SUM the total words in all open files. It was easy enough to copy/paste into an Excel sheet to add up the output of words from all open files, but I wonder if a Nisus macro could also add up the w...

Re: How to display Character Count without multiple clicks
Would it be getting greedy to ask if this Document Statistics macro could be extended to do Word/Character Count in all open documents?
It's fantastic that the macro counts now text within tables!

Re: How to display Character Count without multiple clicks
The revised Document Statistics macro displays the count in BOTH selection and document at the same time!
Excellent, thank you so much! I wonder how many Nisus users could use this macro!

Re: How to display Character Count without multiple clicks
Philip,
I never need to know the number of paragraphs in a selection, only the character or word count, so if you are able to modify the macro to "quote out lines 22, 23 and 32", that would certainly suit my purposes!

Re: How to display Character Count without multiple clicks
A request for modification of the Document Statistics macro. I selected text across cells in a table, and the macro didn't work, citing: 'There was an error on line 22 in the macro "Document Statistics". Expected a TextSelection object, not a Selection object.' This is line 22 in the macro...

Many, many thanks for this macro that includes word count and character count in the Statistics!
I've already set Menu Keys for the Palette and this Macro.
Much appreciated!

Re: How to display Character Count without multiple clicks
Martin,
Thank you so much for the "Character Counts" macro! It is great that the macro also counts within tables.
That's just what I needed, and I assigned a shortcut to it and now I'm set.
Would it be too much to ask for a similar macro for "Word Count"?

How to display Character Count without multiple clicks
Hi everyone, I'm looking for a way to display the character count in a file (or selected table) in a simpler way than by opening Tools, clicking on the Pencil, and viewing the Stats. Basically I would like to use a Menu Key or even a Keyboard Maestro macro to save time using this repetitive action t...

The upgrade to Default Folder 4.4.4 seems to have completely eliminated the crashing problem!
Many thanks for your attention to this!
