Re: Workflow for academic writing?
Flips, For bibliography references I use BibDesk. There is no automatic updating of the references inserted in the text, but I could see that there is no need to update references so frequently. Yes, you can make a mistake or find a better edition, or add information, but it is very easy to fix the ...

Re: Facelift?
While speaking of facelift, I only recently discovered how to make Nisus visually much more interesting. I discovered this while trying to replicate the look of Scrivener, and for this started digging among the many options that Nisus elegantly hides among the many advanced options. Maybe you know t...

Re: Facelift?
Nisus is perfectly integrated with Mac OS X's look and feel. What someone is perceiving as old, is the Mac as a whole. After the new flat/swiss aesthetic was bought in by mobile operating systems, the whole real-desktop methaphore has aged. What I hope is that Nisus will always remain perfectly inte...

Re: NW for iPad?
These days I've been ill, and have tried to continue working in my living room, much warmer and comfortable than my home office. It was the ideal situation to focus on some text-only works that attended completion. My texts are mostly written in Nisus Writer or Scrivener. Often, I collect snippets, ...

Re: Italian hyphenation
If Nisus wants to clean up this matter, I guess we Italian users will be more than happy to help them. Bad hyphenation is more than embarassing: in some cases it might mean being disqualified.

Re: Italian hyphenation
Paolo, I used a lot of wp apps, included Apple Pages. All the hyphenation results for Italian are by far superior to that of Nisus. If this includes Mellel, I worked on the Italian hyphenation dictionary of one of the previous versions (I don't know if they are still using that one). As far as I co...

Re: Italian hyphenation
Unfortunately, Italian language support from Apple is sub-par. So, if Nisus relies on Apple's dictionary, there is little hope to see this improved. In Nisus, I use a keyboard shortcut to add manual hyphens when needed.

Re: Export to InDesign
Thank you very much, Martin. This is really a huge limitation. It is incredible how Apple went only half-way with their conversion code.

Re: Export to InDesign
However, I fear there is no way to let Nisus Writer understand the paragraph styles when importing HTML files. At least, I tried both with styles like <h1> and <p class="Heading-1">, and they where not applied to the corresponding paragraph in Nisus. Should I investigate on mistakes in the...

Re: NW for iPad?
There is something in Textilus that I never liked. Contrary to most text editors on the iPad, I find it too busy and not intuitive. In other words, I could never find it intuitive and let me focus on my writing. However, I can give it another chance.

O no, not another text editor from which to choose when using the iPad! Not one so good as this one looks!Michael T wrote:there's a new iPad Editor with very very powerful features [Editorial]

Re: A few new Nisus forums
RSS Feeds work now. Thank you Martin!
Just another small note: there are very little of them in the list I see. Maybe you can increase the total number of persisting feeds?

Nice move, Martin. Shame, however, that forum headlines can't still be seen through any RSS reader.
