Thanks for pointing me to the manual online.
When I have invoked the NWP Help from the help menu command in NWP, I get the disconcerting "Help is not available for NWP."

NWP manual?
Is there a manual for NWP? Did I dream it up, or lose it? There's not one in the installation package for 1.01, nor on the website. Would be handy to have it posted on the support page ...

crashing
I too have had problems with hanging/crashing. The file is quite long (34K words) but without EPS, graphics, or tables. I agree that it seems to be when inserting text in the middle of the document there is a beachball of death. I have 4 GB of RAM with few only a few other apps open, so I don't thin...

printing error, overprinting, with EndNote
Hi All, When I used EndNote X1 to format my paper's footnotes from Endnote's temporary citations to full citations, and then printed the resulting new document, footnotes from the next page were printed on the prior page's. Just the first footnote on 3 successive pages, but each page there printed i...

asterisks, and removal
I have been bit by this bug as well.
however, it's fairly fixable. Do a search for the ol' *. When it finds the first one, switch to the document, and delete. then hit the command-g to go to the next while still in the document window, and delete. bam bam bam! annoying but at least a quick fix.

obvious
Dang, I knew it was something obvious. Glad to learn it, though.
Martin, do you have an opinion on working with large documents--just stick with one big file, or work with chunks and sew it up together at the end?

drag versus copy/paste?
Hmm, what do you mean by dragging the icons? I would have done a select all/copy/paste into the new document. Perhaps you know something clever (or obvious), that I don't.
Glad the system works, though!

breaking a big document into chunks
I'm been writing a long document (300+ pages), with footnotes, in chunks (about 7 separate pieces). I'm maybe a third of the way there. What is this the best approach for speed and stability? The current approach means I will have to cut, paste, and stitch the parts together, so footnotes will have ...

try Word, ack!, as an intermediary fix
I may be suffering from this reported Leopard-NWP bug. I too had a file that crashed with a click on certain areas of text, and repairing fonts, disk permissions, and rebooting did no good. I then opened the file with Word 2004 and saved it as an RTF, and then opened it in NWP, and it seems fine now...

splash box + leopard + spaces
I am seeing the splash box of "About Nisus Writer Pro" and am running 10.5.1 and using Spaces. So yes, I'm seeing it too. Just glad that Nisus knows about it. I also see some blurring/text over text in the footnotes when I scroll (can cause a mild heart attack, at first!), as if footnotes ...

splash page?
I assume by splash page you mean the "About Nisus" window that appears at startup. It is irritating that it just hangs there and doesn't go away unless I close it. For some reason I don't remember having it hang there permanently until recently.

try Butler
The capability of accessing prior clipboards is provided by various programs. I like Butler. http://www.manytricks.com/butler/ It calls them pasteboards. Once enabled, you can hit the "control-spacebar," type "paste," and then you get a menu with your last six things in the clipb...
