Comments are gone from rtf
Hi, I was working on an rtf, a format I thought was encouraged for NWP, and had pages and pages with comments. I saved, closed, and came back later. When I double clicked on the rtf file it opened in TextEdit automatically. When closing I also habitually clicked Command+Save. No big deal I thought. ...

Nisus Writer Manual - keep it or toss it?
I've been a long time NW user, and have two manuals from the Classic days. I'm about to toss them... or are there tidbits inside which may help with the current NWP or NWE?

Re: how to find a word with certain letter, and highlight all
Kino, Martin, thank you. I have been trying for some time to come up with solutions to these problems. I had one back in OS 9 days using some grep-based app, but since the move to OS X and unicode I haven't had much success, basically going through word by word, letter by letter, and changing by han...

Re: how to find a word with certain letter, and highlight all
I'm actually trying to go from an arabicized file (something that was put through the wonderful previous solutions) BACK to Cyrillic. I have several files to go into Kazak arabic and the above solutions work great; BUT, as well, several to go back into Cyrillic. Somehow going backwards though this p...

Re: how to find a word with certain letter, and highlight all
Well, it seems you may have a point. On one test file your solution found one word Martin's didn't, "Әрқайсысы". It seemed his worked well because on another file it did find all the pertinent words (I proofread it to make sure). So, another big thank you to you too, much appreciated. Here...

Wow. You did it. Now I am going to go over the incredibly helpful explanations you gave so that I can understand it too! Huge thanks to you, thank you!

Re: OTF? VOLT?
Thank you for your reply. Right now I am using UKIJ Zilwa, but it would be nice to have more options. In the (hopefully) attached screenshot, you can see that the text in UKIJ Zilwa is perfect, including how "flat" it is (Kazak rarely gets too swirly). You can see there is a joining proble...

how to find a word with certain letter, and highlight all
Hoping some magic might happen here. I need to be able to find all words in a document which have and 1+ of 4 particular letters, but NOT 1 or 2 of any other 3 letters, and then highlight/select what is found so I can copy it all to paste into another document. More detail: In Cyrillic Kazak, I need...

Re: OTF? VOLT?
Sorry for not checking back sooner. I received an email saying there was a response and then only saw now that some other questions had been asked. I am writing in the Kazak language, the alphabet as used in China. Lets see, the letters I need are (according to the Unicode Arabic Code pages) 0639 - ...

Hm. I guess that is too bad. Mellel has its own fancy Text Engine then? I wonder how many users of Arabic and similar languages use Nisus? And if any do, I wonder what fonts they use? As I pointed out, the ones which join properly are missing key letters for me; the complete ones don't join in Nisus...

Not joining properly
Thanks for replying, It's not just a few letters I need: the fonts I listed, as well as many others, simply don't seem to work in Nisus. I refer to the Arabic characters not joining; they appear as individual characters. Any font which works in Arabic in Mellel doesn't in Nisus. I like Mellel, and b...

OTF? VOLT?
What's the word on NWP or NWE working with otf fonts such as VOLT's Arabic Typesetting, Riwaj, TITUSCyberbit Basic? I'd continue using these (I was a 6.5 user) if they worked with fonts like the ones above. The crazy thing in my circumstance is that even though NW(P)(E) work with Apple AAT fonts (li...
