Re: Document Could Not Be Opened
IMPORTANT UPDATE I just found a copy of the NWP 1.03 dmg on my backup system... I installed that and the "test" file opens fine. When I open in NWP 1.2 it fails. I'm sure the problem is related to the installation of NWP 1.2 on my G5. I'm happy to provide any information you might need to...

Re: Document Could Not Be Opened
I'm pretty sure the problem began when I installed NWP 1.2. I don't use my laptop as often and usually in a hurry, so I've been dismissing the upgrade notifications on that machine, which continues to work. Based on the error message, it seems to be looking for a filter that does not exist. Is there...

Re: Document Could Not Be Opened
Looks like Nisus has abandoned me on this one... I tried opening files on my powerbook G4, which is running NWP 1.1 on OS X 10.4.11 and that works fine. I think my problems began when I installed NWP 1.2 on my G5 1.8 Dual running OS X 10.4.11. It's kind of disappointing no one from Nisus has respond...

Re: Document Could Not Be Opened
What log would you recommend I look in? I do not see an specific Nisus logs. Now, here is another thought... are there any specific fonts that must be loaded for Nisus to work? I'm using Font Reserve Server and keep fonts to a bare minimum. Until the last update of NWP, there was a problem with text...

Re: Document Could Not Be Opened
Your Test.doc document opens fine for me using NWP 1.2 and Mac OS X 10.5.6 (Intel) - it contains just the word "Test" (Times New Roman, 12pt) right? That's correct. I'm running NWP 1.2 on Mac OS X 10.4.11 on a G5 Dual 1.8. I sourced this document in ms word on the same machine. It works f...

Re: Document Could Not Be Opened
I have just sent the menu Help > Send Feedback communication as requested. NWP seems to be looking for a filter and not finding it. I have reinstalled NWP, but no change to the error.

Re: Document Could Not Be Opened
Here is a doc I cannot open. http://potato-content.net/guests/guest_downloads/Test.doc This problem started about 2 weeks ago. The .doc files come from many sources, including my own desktop, which has Word 11.3.8 and 12.1.5. I tend to think its a Nisus problem. Is there a preferences file or someth...

Document Could Not Be Opened
I keep getting this error with .doc files. Any ideas on how to fix. The error reads thusly: There were problems reading the document 'anyname.doc' that prevented us from opening it. If you are willing to send this file to Nisus Software, we will look into fixing the problem for a future release. The...

Line Counts
Can anyone suggest a way to count lines? Counting "\n" occurrences would do. I'm looking to get this number into a "$variable"
Thanks

Conditionals
I'd like to have a macro ensure that the Menu Command "View:Show Invisibles" is "On." I see I can toggle it "On" and "Off" with the simple line of: View:Show Invisibles But is there a way to do a conditional? This example does not work: #Toggle On Invisible Ch...

Typing Code for Macros
I see a distinction between single quotes and quotes in the documentation; however, wen I am typing code, do I need to ensure the quotes are straight as opposed to curly?

Is this the user guide of which you speak?

This does not have any bookmarks in it. Can you point me to the page? Maybe there is another guide. I've looked through the index and read chunks. Bookmarks would be very helpful.

Slug Lines
I know it's a throwback to the days when type was formed from melted lead by guys named Harold with callused hands that could grab hot metal fresh from the Linotype machine and not be burned, but I still like to use "slug lines," a string of text at the top of a document that says informat...
