Re: Adding furigana

A cheap alternative to Word for both furigana and vertical text is iText Pro (don't be put off by the website!):

http://www.jp-lightway.com/iText/

It hasn't been updated for many years but still works well in Mojave.

Re: Glossary issues, again

PS. I have looked into CAT tools, but there are several problems, including virtually all being Windows programs, Euro-centric (with concomitant problems when working with J), and quite simply readability problems Have you looked at the open-source OmegaT? Personally I find working with tags and so...

Re: How to convert table to tab-delimited text

This is helpful to know. However, it means then pasting the copied text somewhere. I was looking rather for a way to convert the table itself into tab-delimited text, and I have since discovered that it is easy to do with LibreOffice.

How to convert table to tab-delimited text

I know one can convert tab-delimited text into a table, but is it possible to convert a table into tab-delimited text? It seems to be possible in MS Word, but can it be done with Nisus?

Re: Service not available in Nisus

I assume that FoxTrot search is a proper OSX service since it is available in all other programmes in which I have tried it. I have got around the problem in Nisus with a Keyboard Maestro macro (although it is not quite as fast as the FoxTrot search service).

Service not available in Nisus

In my Services menu I have a service called "Search in FoxTrot Personal" which becomes available whenever I select some text. Unfortunately it is no longer available in Nisus. Would this be related to that dreaded sandboxing? And if so, is there any way to make it available again in Nisus?

Re: Nisus Pro not opening docs - Permission Denied

The old macros were in the third folder you suggested. (I had already checked the first two and had been somewhat surprised to discover that there was no "Nisus Writer Pro" folder under ~/Library/Application Support).

Re: Nisus Pro not opening docs - Permission Denied

Have you tried resetting access to the Macros folder using the menu Macros > Choose Macros Folder ? That might solve the problem, even if you simply reselect the same exact folder. The process of selecting the folder should grant Nisus Writer Pro (NWP) access to the folder. I again got the same err...

This problem has occurred only since updating to the latest version (2.1.3).

Re: Nisus Pro not opening docs - Permission Denied

I am not actually trying to save the macros in the Library -- that is just the message that pops up when I select one of those items in the Macros menu. And on looking for the "Macros" folder, it now seems that there is no such folder in the "Nisus Documents" folder.

Re: Nisus Pro not opening docs - Permission Denied

I am having a similar problem with macros on OS 10.9. When I select Macros > Show Macros Folder in Finder or Add Macro to Menu from File, I get the error message 'You don’t have permission to save the file “Macros” in the folder “Library”'. Restarting Nisus and the computer has made no difference, a...

Re: Can not drag and drop

I had a similar problem with option drag-and-drop not working in Nisus, and only Nisus, for well over a year [OS 10.6.8]. Then a couple of weeks ago I found that it was suddenly working. I never did bother reporting it, but would be interested to know if other people have had similar problems.

Re: Multiline brace

Thanks for the pointer to the Unicode brace elements. By fiddling with font sizes and baselines I think I may be able to achieve what I want. Otherwise I'll try your suggestion for using a table.

Multiline brace

I need to have a single (left) brace that spans several lines of text. Can this be done in Nisus? And if not, any suggestions for the easiest way to achieve this would be much appreciated.
