Nevermind about the question. I'm an idiot and just spaced out on TABLES for this sort of thing.

But the larger question about formatting stands.

Help with columns + section breaks

I'm having a devil of a time in 2.5a with columns. I'm almost certain it's because I don't know what I'm doing and am used to Word. Here's the deal: I'm trying to type up a final examination, and I'd like to have a section of matching where the page splits into two columns, one on the left with titl...

midwinter: 1. Select the note text you want to change (or click in the note area and choose "select all" to change all of them.) 2. Choose Format->Style->Endnotes to change to endnotes and Format->Style->Footnotes to change to footnotes. -Charles Ah. Great. May I request that you guys sti...

hey guys...am I blind, or is there no easy way to convert between endnotes and footnotes? Often, in my writing, I need to move back and forth between them depending upon the requirements of a journal. This feature in Word is one of the main things that keeps me using it, which is ironic, since word ...

No!!! I want fewer options and less control over the interface!! :P

Seriously, though. That would be very, very cool.

Damn! I had no idea! But I like the idea of detaching the entire drawer (and being able to customize it) sort of like how iCal allows you to detach the info pane.

Importing Word documents with block quotes inserts a tab at the beginning of the blocked material.

Very nice work, Nisus! Startup is MUCH faster, and the tabs in the toolbar work nicely. The revision of the Styles interface is MUCH better and is now much more intuitive.

Where's that thread on Macnn or Appleinsider?

OpenDoc has nothing to do with OpenDocument, which is the new name for the OASIS xml format specification, used by OpenOffice.org 2.0, Abiword, Kword, and supported by the EU as a possible candidate for the transmission of public documents in a non-propietary format, as you can see in the following...

I recently discovered that every 4/1 I need my text to grow smaller as it moves fromleft to right across the page.

Sort of like this.

I think this feature is FAR more important than recursive footnotes.

Hi: This date feature is certainly on our list. I don't think it will get finished in time for this next release, but it should be ready soon after. We have not forgotten about the macro repository idea either. We are going to focus on Macros in general soon and this is when we will look into setti...

This release adds support for bullets, lists, document numbering, and right to left. Our #1 priority right now, however, is fixing all the bugs we can find so you can rely on this every day. What about toast making, CD burning, and MP3 playing? These are essential features in a word processor for m...
